This morning I travelled to Stuart to the Safe Harbor Harborage Yacht Club to talk ‘oversight’ with Yacht refit and repair as part of a Refit Series with ARLC (American Refit Leadership Council ).

If you are in the business of business, you know that if everything relies on the owner being involved it’s super risky.

So as a business owner or an entrepreneur, your job is to mitigate risk. If you haven’t done so already, you want to aim to make it so that you are not essential for day-to-day operations of the business.

The best way to check to see how important you are for your business, take 2 to 3 days off and see how many questions come in. Then grade the importance of the questions.

as a business owner, if all the decisions for your business have to come through you, you do not have a scalable business

But what you do have is a lot of risk.

So I want you to have a look at your business and find all the questions that you seem to be fielding on a day-to-day basis and it’s from there that you’re going to make your playbook

Day1. My journey on building seekstandards.com with the aim of helping small businesses & entrepreneurs not get stuck with having everything route through them.

What used to be a badge of honor means nothing if you try to sell or transfer the business over.

A quick litmus test.

If the businesses can’t run without you for at least a month, then we need to fix that.
