One of my favorite parts of custom work is creating something that feels like it was always meant to be there.

This custom coffee and wine bar is getting close to the finish line. The cabinetry has been installed, the floating shelves are in place, and the upper display cabinet is ready to be filled. The final piece will be the stone countertop, which will tie everything together and complete the look.

We also incorporated hidden storage, a custom pullout organizer, and built around the wine refrigerator to maximize both function and style.

It’s always exciting to see a project reach this stage because you can finally start to picture how the space will be used every day.

Some projects are built to blend in.

Others are built to become part of the conversation.

This custom room divider was designed to create separation without closing off the space. It adds storage, display areas, visual interest, and a whole lot of personality while still keeping the room open and inviting.

The best part? This wasn’t pulled from a catalog or ordered online. It was built specifically for this home, this space, and this family’s vision.

Some projects are about building something beautiful. Others are about being part of something bigger.

We recently completed one of the most unique projects we’ve ever taken on. A nonprofit organization called Samaritan’s Feet approached us after purchasing a bus that will soon travel across the country and around the world, delivering shoes to people in need.

Our role was to retrofit the interior with custom shoe storage and seating areas where recipients can comfortably sit and try on their new shoes. Right now, the bus is still awaiting its exterior wrap, but before long it will be hitting the road carrying hope, dignity, and opportunity to communities far beyond our own.

What makes this project even more special is the mission behind it. Samaritan’s Feet provides shoes to people who otherwise may not have access to them, helping create opportunities for health, education, and a brighter future. They serve communities across the United States and around the world, and this very bus will soon be part of that effort.

As a woodworker, most of my projects stay close to home. This one will travel thousands of miles and impact countless lives. It’s an honor to know that something built in my shop will become part of that journey.

Some projects are about more than just woodworking. They tell a story.

This man cave was built for a recently retired military officer as a tribute to his years of service, sacrifice, and accomplishments throughout his career. Every detail was designed with purpose, including these custom live edge shelves crafted from beautiful ambrosia maple.

Now comes the best part… seeing those shelves filled with the memories, awards, and milestones that represent a lifetime of dedication. Projects like this are always special to us because they become part of someone’s story long after the work is complete.

There’s something special about working in a home with over 100 years of history behind it. For this custom library build, we designed the cabinetry to flow seamlessly with the existing kitchen in this beautiful craftsman-style home, carefully matching the color, details, and character already throughout the space.

The goal was to make it feel like it had always been there. Timeless, functional, and true to the craftsmanship of the home itself. These are the kinds of projects we love most because every detail matters, especially when honoring the history and personality of a space.

A project like this is exactly why we take so much pride in what we do.

Waxhaw Woodworking was honored to be chosen by an HOA Board of Directors to design and build a memorial bench dedicated to a cherished member of their community. From the very first conversation, this was about more than just custom furniture. It was about creating something meaningful that would reflect a life that meant a great deal to many people.

Mr. Jeffrey Feldstein and our team focused on every detail of the design and craftsmanship to ensure the final piece carried both beauty and purpose. The goal was to create something timeless, durable, and respectful of the memory it represents.

We are grateful for the trust placed in us for a project of this importance, and even more grateful to hear how meaningful the finished bench is to the community it now serves.
