With all the rain coming in today now is not the ideal time to discover your 10+ year old sump pump no longer works. If you do find yourself in this situation and you are getting bids that seem a little "pricey" just to replace the main pump give us a call. Local handyman replaced this water line under a mobile home. 50 feet of water line just thrown on the ground, no heat tape, or insulation. To top that off, another different local handyman was hired to heat tape the line and only did the front section that would be visible without getting underneath. Needless to say, customer had frozen pipes and no water. Got everything heat taped and insulated for them so they can avoid future issues. This is a good example of why it's important to find someone who is experienced and you can trust to do what they are hired to do and do it the right way! With all the heavy rainfall expected in the coming week, remember to check your sump pump to make sure it is in good working order. The last thing you want to do is walk down your basement stairs into a couple inches of water! If you think your pump is getting on in age or not working properly, or even if you have a quote from another company give us a call. We can help you out!

With all this cold weather coming in, here are a few tips you can try to avoid frozen pipes.

Insulate cracks and gaps you see or feel close to your pipes.

Try wrapping pipes in heat tape and if you already have heat tape, remember to plug it in. This is especially handy for mobile homes.

Leave at least one faucet with a small stream of water running. It takes more than just a drip but you don't need a lot either.

All this can help but there is nothing you can really do to guarantee pipes won't freeze. Any preventative measures are better than waking up or coming home to a flooded house!

Some before & after shots of a bathroom remodel. Replaced toilet & vanity. Also did water lines, shut offs and drains but didn't think to get pics before I closed up the walls. Shower/Tub was already in like new condition so I just did diverter and new shower trim.
