Franklin County Courthouse Renovation

Franklin County Courthouse Renovation This site was created to give folks, who are interested, a chance to see the renovation of the court In 1835 the "new" County Courthouse was built on St. Clair.

On May 10, 1795, Franklin County became the 18th Kentucky County. The original courthouse had been built in 1806 on the corner of Capitol Square. Renovations were made in 1927 and 1949 and again after the fire in 1994. The exterior has remained the same throughout. The newest renovation plans have been finalized, the temporary courthouse has been relocated to 669 Chamberlin Ave. and demolition is

ready to start. This site has been developed to keep folks up to date on the progress of the new courthouse. Please send suggestions and comments (of any kind). I will post pictures frequently.
