🐝 Ever wonder what’s really happening to the bees?

Here’s the quick story ⬇️

1️⃣ Fewer pollinators have been spotted across Colorado this year, not just bees, but butterflies and ladybugs too.

2️⃣ It’s mostly due to neurotoxic pesticides, habitat loss, and rising heat.

3️⃣ But the good news? We can all help, even from our own backyard!

4️⃣ At ZeroBugs, we protect homes without hurting pollinators. 🌿

Smart. Safe. Eco-conscious. Always.

𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗗𝗜𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗘𝗘𝗦 𝗚𝗢? 🐝

💥 A customer told us she hasn’t seen a single bee around her house this summer.

That hit us. Because when the bees go quiet… something’s off.

A lot of people have been noticing it ... fewer bees, fewer butterflies, even fewer ladybugs.
One major reason is the overuse of neurotoxic pesticides (especially neonicotinoids), which can impair bees’ navigation, immune systems, and reproduction.
Add to that habitat loss, climate stress, parasites and pathogens, and poor nutrition, and you get a perfect storm for pollinator decline.

Bees are a key indicator species so when they disappear or suffer, many others feel the impact.
Their health reflects the balance of the entire ecosystem. 🌍🐝

That’s why at ZeroBugs, we do things smarter: we protect homes without hurting pollinators.

Have you noticed fewer bees or butterflies where you live too? 👇

What You Can Do:
🌼 Plant pollinator-friendly flowers (native to Colorado if possible like coneflower, bee balm, sunflowers).
🚫 Avoid sprays that list neonicotinoids or imidacloprid — those are neurotoxic to bees.
🚿 Leave small water spots or pebbled dishes — bees need hydration, too.

🐝 And when you need pest control, choose companies that protect both your home and the ecosystem around it.

Smart pest control. Bee-conscious. Always. 🐝💛

🕷The Black Widow Found Next to a Classroom — and Why It Matters

There’s a silence that hits different when your flashlight catches a glint of red under a vent.
You stop — because this isn’t just another crawlspace.
It’s a reminder that pest control isn’t about chemicals or checklists.
It’s about keeping people safe where it matters most.

During a routine inspection, we found a real Black Widow — not plastic, not décor — quietly waiting inside a bait station.
Just a few feet away from a classroom.

We handle these things so others don’t have to see them.
So the classrooms stay normal, the playgrounds stay happy, and nobody ever knows what almost crawled in.

October brings plenty of fake scares.
This one wasn’t.

ZeroBugs.
Eco-conscious. Family-safe.
We don’t just treat pests — we protect the everyday.

Not every yellow jacket job happens at ground level 🐝

Sometimes you’ve got to climb, balance, and dust the nest — all while keeping your cool (and hoping they don’t come out angry).

At ZeroBugs, we handle even the toughest wasp and yellow jacket situations — safely, effectively, and without using neurotoxins.

Think you’ve got a nest somewhere high up? We’ve got you covered — from rooflines to attics.

😳 Would you sleep knowing THIS was in your bed?
That’s not a crumb — it’s a bed bug. And each one can lay up to 500 eggs.
They crawl out at night, hide in seams, and vanish by morning like tiny vampires with a bedtime.

We found these in a Castle Rock home this week — and the owners had no idea.
If you’re waking up with itchy bites or see small black dots on sheets, don’t ignore it.
ZeroBugs can inspect, confirm, and treat your home — safely, effectively, and without using neurotoxins.

Because once you’ve seen one bed bug… you’re already sharing the room.

Rodent exclusion under the deck

Mice were entering through insulation and a loose metal plate around a pipe.

Our team sealed the gap using stainless steel wool and galvanized mesh, creating a permanent, rodent-proof barrier.

Cooler nights mean more rodent activity. Schedule your fall inspection today and keep them out before winter hits.

🐭 Eco-conscious. Pet-safe. ZeroBugs approved.

October is officially here, and with it comes cooler nights in Douglas County 🍂.
While we enjoy sweater weather, rodents are busy looking for a warm place to stay… your home.

The smartest move you can make? Start exclusions in October.

By sealing gaps and entry points now, you stop rodents before they even become a problem.

Right now we’re seeing in Colorado homes:
🕷 Spiders becoming more active indoors
🐭 Mice and rodents looking for warm nesting spots
🪲 Boxelder bugs and stink bugs covering windows and siding
🐝 Wasp queens sneaking into attics and garages

Smart fall tips to protect your home:
✅ Don’t store pet food or bird seed in the garage without sealed containers — it’s an open invitation for mice.
✅ Check weatherstripping on doors; if you can slide a credit card under the door, a mouse can squeeze through.
✅ Boxelder bugs love sunny siding — vacuum them instead of crushing, so they don’t leave stains or odors.
✅ Wasp queens hide in attic insulation; check screens on attic vents to make sure they’re intact.
✅ Spiders follow their food — reducing other bugs inside means fewer eight-legged “surprises.”

At ZeroBugs we handle pest prevention the eco-conscious way — no neurotoxins, only the safest methods for your family and pets.
