We’re proud to announce that Stocks General Contractors has been awarded the structural concrete and underground utility package for the Military Working Dog Kennel project at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, in partnership with Prokopton LLC.

This project supports the mission of the United States Marine Corps by delivering a modern facility for military working dogs and their handlers.

Our team will self-perform:

* Structural concrete foundations and reinforced slab-on-grade construction
* Post-tension concrete slab installation
* Domestic water and sanitary sewer utilities
* Underslab plumbing systems
* Trench drains, kennel drains, and floor drainage systems
* Foundation drainage and associated underground infrastructure
* Concrete placement, finishing, curing, and quality control

At Stocks General Contractors, we take pride in delivering complex civil and structural concrete projects with a focus on quality, safety, schedule, and integrity. Today, Stocks General Contractors, LLC had the privilege of partnering with DC Water to deliver a full-day Utility Masonry & Brickwork Fundamentals Training for employees in the Department of Sewer Operations.

Led by David Stocks Sr. and David Stocks Jr., the training combined classroom instruction with hands-on practical exercises covering topics such as:

* Manhole frame and cover adjustments
* Brick course installation
* Catch basin repairs
* Parging techniques
* Mortar mixing and application
* Proper masonry tools and field best practices

The highlight of the day was watching participants get their hands dirty, apply new skills, ask thoughtful questions, and work together to solve real-world utility maintenance challenges. Hands-on learning continues to be one of the most effective ways to build confidence and improve workmanship.

We were also honored that the training was professionally recorded to support DC Water’s Learning & Development program, helping extend this knowledge to future employees through ongoing workforce training.

A sincere thank you to John Huntley, Monique Fletcher, the DC Water team, and every participant who made this event a success. We appreciate the opportunity to contribute to the professional development of the crews who help maintain our region’s critical infrastructure.

Yesterday, Stocks General Contractors brought employees together for a company-wide benefits meeting focused on education, communication, and investing in our team.

The meeting was led by Administrative Director Brittany Stocks and Operations Administrator El Tilghman, who reviewed current benefits, introduced new benefit options, and addressed questions, concerns, and feedback from employees to ensure everyone understands the resources available to them and their families.

In addition to the benefits discussion, General Superintendent Jim Collins spoke about the critical role our field personnel play in the success of every project and emphasized the importance of safety, teamwork, quality, and professionalism in the field.

President David Stocks provided an update on the overall state of the company, discussing our growth, future opportunities, strategic direction, and the career advancement paths available to employees throughout the organization. His message reinforced our commitment to creating opportunities for personal and professional growth while continuing to build a strong future for both our employees and the company.

We appreciate everyone who attended, participated in the discussion, and shared valuable feedback. Meetings like these help strengthen communication, align our team around common goals, and ensure every employee understands the opportunities and support available to them.

For the past 3 years we’ve completed hundreds of pipe patch trenchless internal point repairs from 6” up to 108”. Yesterday Luis and his crew knocked out a single 8” repair on an offset joint. You can see how the issue has been resolved and we’re on to the next one!
