🧼 A little pressure washing turned into a BIG pool mess! 💦

The homeowners had the area around their pool power washed, but unfortunately, all that dirt, dust, and debris ended up right where they didn't want it — in the pool! 😬

Our team got to work removing the debris, cleaning the pool, and getting it back to looking clean and swim-ready. 🏊‍♀️✨

💡 Pro tip: If you're having your pool deck or surrounding areas pressure washed, make sure your pool is properly protected beforehand. It can save you a whole lot of cleanup later!

🚨 Your pool is trying to tell you something! 🚨

When your skimmer is packed with leaves and debris, and you’ve got even more leaves piling up around it trying to get sucked in, your pool is working overtime! 🍂💦

And if there’s sediment settling all along the bottom, that’s another sign your pool may not be getting the circulation and cleaning it needs.

A clogged skimmer can make it harder for your system to keep up, leaving you with cloudy water, debris, and a pool that’s anything but swim-ready.

You've probably noticed the smoky skies across Virginia. The smoke from the Canadian wildfires has led to poor air quality in many areas, so it's important to take a few extra precautions—even if you're planning a day by the pool.

🏊 The pool water itself isn't the problem. If your pool is properly maintained and balanced, it's still safe to swim.

🌫️ The concern is the air you're breathing. When air quality is rated as unhealthy, it's a good idea to limit strenuous outdoor activity, especially for children, older adults, and anyone with asthma or other heart or lung conditions.

Smoke and ash can also end up in your pool, so be sure to:
💦 Skim out any debris or ash that settles on the water.
🧪 Test your water chemistry and rebalance if needed.
🧺 Empty your skimmer baskets and keep your filter running to help remove fine particles.

Stay informed by checking your local air quality reports before spending extended time outdoors.

All the recent storms may have cooled things off, but they probably left a mess behind in your pool! ⛈️🍃

Heavy rain and strong winds can fill your pool with leaves, sticks, and other debris. They can also throw off your water chemistry, making it harder to keep your pool clear, clean, and safe for swimming.

After a storm, it's a good idea to:
• Skim out leaves and debris
• Empty your skimmer and pump baskets
• Check and clean your filter if needed
• Test and rebalance your water chemistry

A little cleanup now can help prevent bigger problems later.

⚠️🐍 Pool Safety Reminder 🐍⚠️

One of our clients sent us this photo after spotting a copperhead resting on the top step of their pool ladder. It's a good reminder that during the warmer months, snakes and other wildlife may seek out cool, shaded areas around your pool.

Before jumping in, take a few extra seconds to:
👀 Check your pool steps and ladders.
🪴 Look around landscaping and pool equipment.
🚪 Be cautious in areas with tall grass or heavy vegetation nearby.

Most snakes want to avoid people, but it's always best to stay alert and give them plenty of space if you spot one.

A quick look before you swim can help keep your pool day safe and enjoyable. Stay safe out there, and thanks to our client for sharing this important reminder!

If you are spending the day by the water, please remember these helpful hints.

1️⃣ Clear the Deck: Keep walking paths around the pool completely free of toys and hoses to prevent trips.

2️⃣ Watch the Chemicals: Heavy pool use lowers chlorine quickly. Give your pool a shock after the guests leave to keep it crystal clear.

3️⃣ Keep Glass Away: Stick to plastic cups and aluminum cans to avoid dangerous, invisible broken glass in the water.

4️⃣ Designate a 'Water Watcher': Never leave the pool unattended during busy backyard barbecues.
