🔧💪🏿 **TWO TOUGH PLUMBING JOBS, BUT WE GOT IT DONE!** 😩😂

Man, these jobs right here almost put me through the wringer! 😂💪🏿

🏠 **JOB #1 – BATHROOM DRAIN REBUILD**

The crawlspace was so tight I could barely move! I spent most of the job on my stomach, side, and back trying to cut, measure, install new fittings, and maintain the proper slope.

Here's what I discovered:

❌ Improper drain fittings and piping configuration

❌ Shower drain missing a P-trap

❌ No proper venting, causing gurgling and sewer gas odors

I went to work modifying the drainage system, replacing improper fittings, and improving the piping layout. Next step is addressing the remaining venting issues under the bathroom sink.

💦 **JOB #2 – WASHING MACHINE DRAIN REPAIR**

Now this one was something else! The washing machine was draining wastewater directly onto the homeowner's lawn! 😳

Instead of allowing that wastewater to continue flowing into the yard, I got to work!

🔧 Dug up and exposed the existing underground main sewer line.

🔧 Cut into the main drain and installed the necessary fittings.

🔧 Rerouted and connected the washing machine drain into the main sewer line.

🔧 Backfilled the excavated area after completing the piping work.

No more intentionally discharging washing machine wastewater across the lawn! 💪🏿

💯 **ONE THING ABOUT ME — I'M NOT AFRAID TO GET DIRTY!**

Whether I'm crawling underneath a house or digging trenches in somebody's yard, I'm putting in the work!

This customer wanted to upgrade their existing bathroom sink faucet with a beautiful, modern customer-supplied brushed nickel lavatory faucet. 🚰✨

After inspecting the existing plumbing, it was time to give this bathroom a fresh new look!

🔧 SERVICE PERFORMED:

✅ Removed the existing outdated 3-piece lavatory faucet.

✅ Installed the new customer-supplied brushed nickel faucet.

✅ Reconnected the hot and cold water supply lines.

✅ Inspected the existing plumbing connections.

🔧🚽 **WHAT STARTED AS A SIMPLE TOILET REPLACEMENT TURNED INTO A MUCH BIGGER PLUMBING REPAIR!** 💪🏽

Another job in the books! ✅

The customer originally requested the installation of a **customer-supplied toilet, bathtub drain strainer, and overflow cover.** Sounds pretty straightforward, right? Well, once we started removing the existing fixtures, we uncovered a few hidden plumbing problems that needed attention! 👀

🚽 **PROBLEM #1: SEVERELY DETERIORATED TOILET FL**GE**

After removing the existing toilet, I discovered that the original toilet fl**ge was heavily corroded, deteriorated, and damaged.

A toilet fl**ge is what secures your toilet to the floor and helps create a proper seal between the toilet and drainage system.

⚠️ Installing a new toilet over a damaged fl**ge can lead to leaks, an unstable toilet, and potential water damage.

I explained the condition to the homeowner and recommended addressing the damaged fl**ge before installing the new toilet.

🚰 **PROBLEM #2: CORRODED SHUTOFF VALVE & RUST-FILLED WATER LINE**

During my inspection, I also discovered that the toilet shutoff valve was severely corroded and completely seized. It wouldn't turn off!

Once I started removing the existing valve, I discovered another issue: **the galvanized water piping was heavily filled with rust and sediment, restricting water flow and causing low water pressure.**

Here's where the real work began! 🔧

✅ Carefully removed the necessary wall tiles to access the piping.

✅ Removed the existing galvanized 90-degree fitting.

✅ Installed a new galvanized 90-degree fitting and a 4½-inch galvanized ni**le.

✅ Flushed the water line to remove accumulated rust, dirt, and sediment.

💡 **HOMEOWNER TIP:** Older galvanized water pipes can deteriorate internally over time. Rust buildup can restrict water flow, reduce pressure, and eventually lead to costly plumbing problems.

🛁 **PROBLEM #3: A BATHTUB DRAIN THAT DIDN'T WANT TO COME OUT!** 😅

Now, this one really tested my patience!

The existing bathtub drain appeared to have been installed decades ago, possibly back in the 1990s. It was extremely difficult to remove, and I suspect the previous installer may have used some type of adhesive sealant.

That drain wasn't going anywhere without a fight! 😂

Instead of forcing it and risking damage to the bathtub drain shoe, I took a more careful approach.

🔧 Cut the existing metal drain fitting in two locations.

🔧 Carefully chipped and removed the stubborn drain fitting.

🔧 Protected the existing drain shoe threads from damage.

🔧 Installed the new customer-supplied bathtub drain strainer and overflow cover.

Sometimes what appears to be a simple fixture replacement reveals years of hidden deterioration.
