Sunday, 3 weeks later. For those of you who watch, I apologize for not posting. I don't remember all that I have done for the last few weeks, but want to share what I remember. May not be in order.
First job was to install new screens on basement windows. Was going to make them out of wood but found at Menards kits that you could custom size the frames. The framing was white and so was the house they were being made for. I do not have pictures but they fit perfectly and looked great. I also had to get the windows to open which WD40 to the rescue. Person was pleased.
Second, while working on screens another person asked me to fix a moped that would not run and also had a leaking valve on the front tire. Picture included. Cleaned out the carb jets. Was 90% blocked because of ethanol gas. Person wants to be able to continue to use ethanol gas, as always I recommend putting on a fuel shutoff valve so that the gas feed can be stopped and to run the moped until carburetor bowl is empty. This eliminates ethanol gumming in carb and blocking jets. The carburetor is an odd one, mopeds are cheaply made, it seems to have two gas feeds. I got to do a little more research on. Picture included. The flat tire problem has a rim labeled tubeless on rim ended up having a tube in it. Ordered a replacement tube and installed. Moped runs good now and tire holds air with no leak.
Third, I installed another interior door. Second one in the same house. Pictures included.
Fourth, I was told that a toilet had a problem with taking forever to refill the tank after flushing. Checked the shutoff valve and the hose to find as I suspected the float assembly. The toilet had a older style float. I asked the person if they would be ok with installing a different style. Installed the new float and a new hose and checked thoroughly for leaks. Person was happy with outcome. Again pictures.
Fifth, I was called to a person who's garbage disposal quit working. The garbage disposal brand was the InSinkErator. It has a button that is installed into the counter top that allows the user to push the button to activate the garbage disposal instead of using the light swith that is used in most homes. This button has a tube and works with air. When the user pushes the button air goes down to the control box which activates power to the garbage disposal which is plugged into that control box. Picture is included of box.
Well this post is getting awful long there was a few other things I have done but don't want to bore everyone. As always thinks for following and just to let people know, as if they don't already. Yard mowing has slowed down so I will have a little more time to get to to other things. Thank you for your time and please comment. Have a great week.
