🪚🏡 SAWDUST SATURDAY — WE’RE MOVIN’ ON UP!!! 🏡🪚

WOOOOOOHOOOOO, Y’ALL!!! 😎🤙🏼🔥

Well, apparently the Queen and I looked at all the work we’ve accomplished downstairs and thought…

“YOU KNOW WHAT THIS HOUSE NEEDS? MORE SHIPLAP!!!” 😭

And not just a little more.

A WHOLE LOTTA MORE!!! 🪵😳

That’s right, folks! The WYLAT home remodel has officially moved UPSTAIRS! 🏡⬆️

And let me tell ya… this ain’t gonna be one of those projects we knock out in a weekend. There’s a LOT of wall space waiting for some wewd-workin’ love!

But that’s alright!

Because if there’s one thing the Queen and I have learned through all these projects, it’s that you don’t have to finish everything today to make progress today. ❤️

One board at a time.
One wall at a time.
One room at a time.

And approximately 742 trips back downstairs because somebody forgot the tape measure. 👀

I’m convinced that remodeling a two-story house is just God’s way of making sure we get our cardio in! 💪🏼

And somewhere along the way, I fully expect to hear those famous words from my Queen…

“Honey, while we’re already up here…” 😳

LORD, GIVE ME STRENGTH!!! 🤣🙏🏼❤️

But all jokes aside, I wouldn’t trade these days working alongside my Queen for anything.

We’re not just changing the walls. We’re making memories, building something together, and turning this house into the home we’ve dreamed about. 🥰🏡

So here’s to another Saturday of sawdust, sore muscles, laughter, and a whole lotta love!

THE DOWNSTAIRS IS LOOKIN’ GOOD… AND THE UPSTAIRS IS OFFICIALLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!! 🔨🔥

🪵🙏🏼 WEWD WISDOM WEDNESDAY 🙏🏼🪵

EVEN THE WOODWORKER NEEDS REST. ❤️

Here’s a little something that’s been on my heart lately…

You ever get so caught up in building something that you forget to take care of the one doing the building? 🤔

I sure have.

There’s always another board to cut.
Another project to finish.
Another customer to take care of.
Another thing around the house that needs attention.

And before you know it, you’re running on coffee, determination, and whatever energy you can scrape together! 😂☕️

But here’s something I’ve learned about woodworking…

You can’t keep pushing a dull blade and expect a clean cut.

Eventually, you’ve gotta stop.

Sharpen it.
Adjust it.
Give it the attention it needs.

And sometimes, my friends…

WE NEED THE SAME THING. ❤️

Even Jesus took time away from the crowds to pray and rest.

And in Matthew 11:28, Jesus tells us:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” ✝️

Notice He didn’t say, “Come to me when you’ve finished everything on your to-do list.”

He said, COME TO ME.

Right there in the middle of the exhaustion.

Right there when things aren’t going according to plan.

Right there when you feel like you’ve got nothing left in the tank.

And THAT is some wisdom worth holding onto. 🙏🏼

Because our worth isn’t measured by how many projects we finish, how much money we make, or how much sawdust we produce.

Our worth is found in the One who made us. ❤️

So today, I’m reminding myself of something I hope somebody else needs to hear, too:

It’s okay to slow down.
It’s okay to rest.
It’s okay to leave something unfinished.

God is still good, even when the shop is quiet.

And sometimes the most productive thing we can do is put down the tools and spend a little time with the One who gave us the strength to pick them up in the first place. 🙌🏼

WELLLLLL, Y’ALL…

You ever have one of those days when your get-up-and-go got up and WENT?!

Yeahhhhh… THAT’S TODAY. 😳

The body is tired.
The brain is tired.
The to-do list is looking at me like I owe it money. 💸

And some things just ain’t going according to plan

BUT YOU KNOW WHAT?!

I’M BLESSED AND HIGHLY FLAVORED!!! 🙌🏼🤣❤️

Yep. FLAVORED.

Because apparently, when life throws a little extra seasoning into the mix, you just gotta roll with it! 😂

A little sawdust. 🪵
A little sweat. 💪🏼
A pinch of frustration. 😤
A whole lotta coffee. ☕️
And a HEAPING helping of God’s grace. 🙏🏼

That’s the WYLAT recipe right there!

And here’s something I’ve been reminded of today…

Being blessed doesn’t mean every day goes according to plan.

Sometimes the boards warp.
Sometimes the measurements don’t add up.
Sometimes the schedule falls apart.

And sometimes you just need to put the tools down and admit…

“Lord, I’m tired.”

But even on those days, there’s still so much to be thankful for.

A loving Queen. ❤️
A roof over our heads. 🏡
Work for these hands. 🪵
And a God whose goodness doesn’t depend on how productive I am today.

So if you’re feeling a little worn out yourself, you’re in good company!

Take a little rest. Give yourself some grace. And remember…

YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS TO BE BLESSED. ❤️🙏🏼

🌾🙏🏼 GRAIN & GRACE SUNDAY 🙏🏼🌾

EVEN THE SORENESS IS A BLESSING. ❤️

Today, we’re finally getting SOME rest.

And I do mean SOME. This ol’ body has a few things to say after all the work the Queen and I have been putting into our home! 🏡🔨

But you know what? I’ll take it!

Because there’s something about Sunday that just hits differently. 🥰

Getting together with our church family. ❤️
Lifting our voices in praise to the Almighty Lord. 🙌🏼
Being reminded of His goodness, His mercy, and His faithfulness. 🙏🏼

And somewhere in the middle of it all, I find myself looking at life a little differently.

Even the sore muscles feel like a blessing today.

Not because the soreness is fun… TRUST ME, IT AIN’T.

But because I’m reminded that God has blessed me and my Queen with the strength, ability, and opportunity to do the things we’ve been doing.

We’ve been building. Creating. Remodeling. Working side by side.

And every bit of it is something I refuse to take for granted. ❤️

The hands that work are a gift.
The strength to keep going is a gift.
The person beside you through it all is a gift.

And the God who makes those blessings possible?

HE DESERVES ALL THE GLORY. ✝️🙌🏼

Psalm 100:4 reminds us to “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise.”

That’s where my heart is today.

Not focused on what still needs to be done.
Not worrying about the next project.
Not thinking about the work waiting for me tomorrow.

Just thankful.

Thankful for God’s goodness.
Thankful for my Queen. 👑❤️
Thankful for our church family.
Thankful for the work of our hands.
And thankful for the privilege of waking up and getting another day to live, love, serve, and build.

Because at the end of the day, the greatest blessings in life aren’t things we build with our hands…

They’re the things God builds within our hearts.

So today, I’m resting a little, praising a LOT, and giving thanks for every blessing — even the ones that come with sore knees and a stiff back! 😂❤️

🪚🏡 SAWDUST SATURDAY — THE HOME REMODEL EDITION! 🏡🪚

WELLLLL, Y’ALL!!!

SOMEBODY SEND HELP… AND MAYBE ANOTHER BOTTLE OF IBUPROFEN!!! 🤣🤣🤣

The Queen and I have been putting in the WORK this week, and LOOK AT THIS ROOM!!! 😍❤️

✅ Shiplap walls? LOOKIN’ GOOD!
✅ Dark ceiling beams? CHECK!
✅ Tile floor? ALMOST THERE!!! 🙌🏼
⏳ Grout and cleanup? THE FINAL BOSS!!! 😳😂

We are SO CLOSE to wrapping up this part of the remodel, I can practically hear the victory music playing!

Of course, my knees, back, and every muscle I forgot I had are singing an entirely different tune. 🤣🦴😂

But here’s the thing…

Every board we’ve hung, every tile we’ve laid, and every long day we’ve put into this house is another little piece of the home we’re building together.

And I wouldn’t trade working alongside my Queen for anything. ❤️

Well… maybe I’d trade a few of these sore muscles for a massage and a nap. 👀🤣

WE’RE NOT DONE YET, BUT WE’RE GETTING THERE!

Just a little grout, a little cleanup, and hopefully a whole lotta REST afterward!

Here’s to the hard work, the progress, the memories, and the person beside you who makes every bit of it worthwhile. ❤️🏡

WELLLLL, Y’ALL… THAT’S A WRAP!!! 😎🤙🏼

The sun has gone down, the coffee has worn off, and somewhere in this house, a tape measure is still missing. 😂📏

It’s been another day of work, plans, and probably a few moments where we looked at something and said…

“Well… THAT’S gonna be tomorrow’s problem.” 🤣🤣🤣

And honestly? Sometimes that’s the smartest decision you can make!

Because here’s a little Thursday night wisdom:

🔨 The tools aren’t going anywhere.
🏡 The house will still need work.
❤️ But the people we’re building all this for? They’re worth slowing down for.

So tonight, we’re calling it.

The tools are down.
The project can wait.
The Queen deserves some quality time. 🥰❤️

And Shoeshine Duck?

Well, he claims he’s working overtime…

But we caught him asleep on the workbench. 🦆💤😂

🔨🏡 WEWD WISDOM WEDNESDAY — HOME REMODEL EDITION! 🏡🔨

GOOOOOOOD MORNING, Y’ALL!!! 😎🤙🏼☕️

The Queen and I have eaten breakfast, fueled up, and reported for duty!

THE MISSION: GET. THAT. TILE. LAID.

And if all goes according to plan, we’re one step closer to finishing up the front room — YES, THE SAME ROOM WITH ALL THAT BEAUTIFUL SHIPLAP! 😍

Today’s wisdom comes from a good bit woodworking experience and a growing understanding of home renovation:

📏 Measure twice.
🔨 Cut once.
👀 Stare at it for a minute.
🤔 Question your measurements.
📏 Measure AGAIN.
😂 Ask the Queen what she thinks.
❤️ Realize she’s probably right.

REPEAT AS NECESSARY. 🤣

Because remodeling a house with your favorite person is a beautiful thing…

…until one of you says, “While we’re at it, we should probably…” 😳

THAT PHRASE HAS NEVER ONCE LED TO A SMALL PROJECT. 😭

But here’s the real wisdom for today:

A home doesn’t come together all at once. It comes together one piece at a time.

One tile. One board. One decision. One day of hard work.

And if a few things don’t go exactly as planned? Well, that’s what makes the story interesting!

So we’re grabbing the tools, rolling up our sleeves, and getting after it!

Pray for our knees, y’all. We’ll be on them all day. 🤣🙏🏼

THE SHIPLAP IS UP. THE TILE IS NEXT. AND THIS FRONT ROOM AIN’T GONNA FINISH ITSELF! 🏡🔥

☕️🪵 MONDAY MILLIN’ 🪵☕️

Everybody sees the finished project.

The sign hanging on the building.
The furniture sitting in somebody’s home.
The walls coming together.
The beautiful grain in a freshly milled board.

But they don’t always see what goes into it.

The early mornings.
The long days.
The mistakes you have to fix.
The money you reinvest.
The plans that change halfway through.
The people standing beside you when the work gets tough.

And that got me thinking this morning…

I’m not just trying to build things. I’m trying to build something that matters.

A business built on trust.
A home built with my Queen.
Relationships built on showing up.
And a life where the work of my hands reflects the goodness of God. ❤️🙏🏼

Will there be sawdust? HECK YEAH. 😂

Will there be days when nothing goes according to plan? You better believe it.

But every board, every project, every little bit of progress is another opportunity to do something meaningful.

So this Monday, I’m not just asking, “What am I going to build?”

I’m asking…

“What am I building all this FOR?”

Because the goal isn’t just to finish more projects.

It’s to build a life worth looking back on with gratitude.

Now THAT’S worth getting up for.

BUILDING MORE THAN WALLS 🏡❤️

Good mornin’, y’all!!! ☕️😎🤙🏼

This morning, I wanted to share a little glimpse of what the Queen and I have been up to! 🥰

We’ve been laying shiplap, making progress on the house, and slowly watching this space transform into something we’ve envisioned together.

One board at a time.
One project at a time.
One little victory at a time. 🪵🔨

And let me tell ya… seeing those boards go up is satisfying! 😍

But as I stood back and looked at what we’ve accomplished, I was reminded of something:

A house is built with our hands, but a home is built with our hearts. ❤️

It’s the time we invest.
The memories we make.
The work we share.
The love we put into the little things nobody else may ever notice.

And sometimes, the blessing isn’t just seeing the finished product…

It’s getting to build it alongside the person you love. 🥹❤️

Ecclesiastes 4:9 reminds us that “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.” 🙏🏼

I’d say that’s pretty fitting for a weekend spent working alongside my Queen!

We’re nowhere near finished, and there’s plenty more work ahead. But today, I’m thankful for the hands that help me, the home we’re building, and the God who gives us the strength and opportunity to do it.

Because the best things in life aren’t always built quickly.

Sometimes they’re built slowly, with a little sweat, a lot of love, and grace for every step along the way. ❤️

GOOOOOOOD MORNING, Y’ALL!!! ☕️

The coffee is brewing, the tools are coming out, and the Queen and I are about to make some MORE progress on this ol’ homestead! ❤️🔨

That’s right… we’re trading the customer projects for a little HOME SWEET HOME-WORKIN’!

Today’s agenda:

🔨 Tear into something we probably should’ve finished yesterday. 👀
📏 Measure approximately 47 times.
🪚 Make some cuts and hope we remembered the measurements. 🤣
🧹 Create a mess that somehow takes longer to clean up than the actual project.
❤️ Work side by side with my favorite person in the world.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, we’ll probably look at each other and say…

“Wellllll… since we’re already working on this, we might as well do THAT, too!” 🤣🤣🤣

FAMOUS LAST WORDS, AM I RIGHT?! 😳😂

But honestly, there’s something special about building a home together. It’s not just about the shiplap, the sawdust, or checking another project off the list.

It’s about the memories we’re making along the way. ❤️

So here we go! Another Saturday, another project, and another opportunity to make this house a little more OURS.

LET THE HOME REMODEL SHENANIGANS BEGIN!!! 🔥🏡
