Following up on my original post about this property…
Friday, I took my family and a couple of friends out to the property to watch the sunset, and it confirmed why this place has such a grip on me beyond business. Almost everyone who’s been out there says some version of the same thing: “I had no idea this existed in Georgetown.."
Standing on that bluff with my wife and our two small boys, watching the sky light up over the river, the football stadium, and the downtown lights, it didn’t feel like a “lot” - it felt like the place we’re meant to raise our kids.
What I didn’t share in the original post is that this isn’t just a 5‑acre jewel - it’s part of a 15‑acre hilltop property on the San Gabriel. From identification to acquisition, the plan was always to keep 5 acres for our personal family home, which is why I’ve shared it with my network first - we have a vested interest in who buys this and would love to have someone we know as neighbors. I’m planting my own family here, and I think that says a lot about how special this land is.
The third piece of the puzzle is another 5 acres with an existing Long Custom Home that we originally built in 2000, sitting above the river with property running all the way down to the water and direct access. I’m in the middle of a full remodel/update of that 3,700‑sf residence - think organic modern style, all‑new modern systems, and finishes that align with what we’re doing in our current custom projects. This isn’t a typical fix & flip; it’s a top‑tier re‑imagining of an already great house.
We’re planning to have the work complete by the end of spring and bring it to market in late spring. I’m letting the secret out now because a buyer at this stage would still have the opportunity to make their own finish selections. In other words, all the heavy lifting for building a custom home - plans, permitting, infrastructure, and the first year of construction - is already done, you just come in and pick the fun stuff.
Some highlights of the available custom home:
-Approximately 3,700 sf, 5 bed / 3.5 bath (not including detached garage with upstairs “apartment” with full bath and shower)
-4.65 riverfront acres with access all the way to the water
-Two primary suites - one upstairs and one downstairs (ADA)
-Formal dining room
-Dedicated office
-New walk‑in butler’s pantry
-New wine/coffee bar with wine fridge
-Complete kitchen remodel with commercial‑grade appliances and new custom cabinetry
-All bathrooms completely remodeled
-Large picture windows and sliding door units opening to 1st and 2nd story balconies
If you’ve been thinking about a legacy property in Georgetown - whether that means building from scratch on the featured 5‑acre bluff site or positioning yourself for the remodeled home coming to market later this spring - and you don’t mind being neighbors, this is your window.
Reach out if you’d like to walk it at sunset sometime; it’s the best way to understand what makes this place different. -Austin Long
