Kaam Jensen is next up for our honory board member introduction!
Kaam grew up in Southeastern Montana, where hard work and wideopen spaces shaped his early years. He began his career at the Westmoreland Rosebud Mine in 2006, starting on the ground level crushing coal and loading rail cars. Those early roles gave him a firsthand understanding of mine operations and the importance of teamwork, safety, and reliability.
In 2010, Kaam transitioned into the Electrical Department—an opportunity that sparked a new professional direction. Over the next nine years, he worked as a mine electrician, gaining deep technical experience and a reputation for problemsolving in demanding industrial environments. His dedication and leadership eventually led him to the role of Electrical Supervisor, where he continues to support operations, mentor electricians, and strengthen electrical safety and performance across the site.
After attending the last two WMEA conferences, Kaam recognized a growing need for more accessible training, shared knowledge, and collaboration among electricians. Since then, he has been committed to bringing electrical professionals together to discuss common challenges, exchange ideas, and elevate standards across industrial settings. His passion lies in building a stronger, more connected community of electricians who can learn from one another and improve the industry as a whole.
Outside of work, Kaam enjoys unplugging and spending time outdoors. He and his wife, Naysa, love camping and traveling with their three girls, exploring new places and making memories together.
