Started my certification journey in 2019 with my first hard surface certification, followed by advanced resilient, carpet in 2020, commercial in 2022, and now officially earning my Master Certified Inspector designation through FCITS.
One moment from this week really stuck with me. During class, we were asked on the spot: “What makes you a master inspector?”
Instructor Dave Gardner said if you’re sitting in that class, you should already be one.
I thought about it for a minute, and the first thing that came to mind was the people who helped me along the way, starting with my father, then mentors like Tony Hojnacki and David Zack, along with the knowledge and resources they’ve shared over the years.
I think what has set me apart is always trying to be a sponge, never thinking I know everything and never wanting to stop learning.
None of this would’ve been possible without my wife Angie Bookie putting up with the overnight trips, long drives, and years of nonstop flooring talk. Thank you for supporting all of it.
Grateful for everyone who has helped shape this journey. This industry has given me a lot, and I’m proud to continue growing in it.
