Just found this gem and cut it out. It's part of a vent that also has a sanitary T connection. Upper right picture shows the crack from the inside. Lower right shows an attempt at a patch that did not work and the top of the split not even patched.

Up North bathroom renovation finished pictures. This one was a full gut down to the studs. We exposed the joists and replaced lots of rotten wood. Basically this 1950s addition was brought back to life and remodeled to match the rest of the 100 year old+ house.
