Most people see a block wall. We see a strategic decision that can have a significant impact on a project's overall cost.

The photo shows a new 3-hour CMU fire separation wall currently under construction. Before moving forward with this approach, our team completed a cost analysis comparing the investment in a rated masonry wall versus the cost of installing a complete fire suppression system throughout the expanded building. After evaluating both options, the fire wall proved to be the most cost-effective solution for achieving the owner's expansion goals while maintaining code compliance.

This is where thoughtful preconstruction planning creates real value. Understanding code requirements early allows us to explore multiple paths, compare costs, and identify solutions that maximize usable space while minimizing unnecessary expenditures.

Sometimes the most valuable part of construction happens long before the first shovel hits the ground.

One of the most valuable tools we use during the design process isn't a drawing, a rendering, or even a budget—it's the opportunity for our clients to physically experience their future space before construction ever begins.

A huge thank you to Walk Your Plans of West Michigan for providing an incredible resource that allows our clients to walk through their proposed floor plans at full scale. This process allows our clients to truly experience their future space, helping ensure room sizes, workflow, and ergonomics align with their vision and daily operations.

At Clear Construction, we believe great projects are built long before construction starts. Investing time upfront to validate design decisions helps ensure the finished space not only looks great but performs exactly as intended.

A new home for Weaver Dentistry.

Congratulations to Weaver Dentistry on their beautiful new office in Grand Rapids. We were honored to build every part of it — reception lounge, treatment suites, and lab — with the care their patients deserve.

Huge thanks to the team that made it happen: Dixon Architecture for the architectural vision, Kyle Wheeler with The Doctors Agent (), and the talented Kathryn Chaplow Design () for the stunning interiors.
