1️⃣The Warm Up: A small oak leaning in a favorable direction away from the home. Jerret used an open face notch and some last second hinge reduction to keep it away from trees being saved.
2️⃣ The Leaning Red Oak: This giant was leaning directly toward the client's home. We deployed our 72-foot tracked lift to safely strip the lower limbs so the tree could swing clear of the roofline. Then, we rigged a 10,000 lb. rated pull line high into the canopy, deployed a redirect, and executed a flawless open-face notch to steer it completely clear of the house.
3️⃣ The Massive Black Walnut: This one was tightly squeezed between the client’s pavilion and their septic sandmound. Drop it without a plan, and thousands of pounds of impact could crush the underground infrastructure.
The Septic Protection Solution: To safeguard the property, we engineered a custom log-stacked barrier. This did two critical things: it kept the heavy trunk elevated so it couldn't physically strike the septic lid, and it distributed the immense impact load across a broad surface area, protecting the delicate underground pipes.
Jerret handled the technical saw work while James and Andrea provided flawless ground coordination, spotting, and rigging support.
