In the trade, we see it every week: A homeowner notices a small drip or a "funny smell" from the AC on Tuesday, ignores it, and by Friday at 5:00 PM, it’s a full-blown emergency.

​ If you have to "jiggle" a handle, "flip" a breaker twice, or "tap" a motor to get it to start—that is your warning shot. These aren't just "quirks"; they are mechanical failures in progress. Fixing a "quirk" on a Thursday is a standard service call. Fixing a "disaster" on a Saturday is an emergency bill.

Our Construction Boot Camp will equip you with essential construction skills and real-world knowledge, providing a clear path to jumpstart your career or take your current skills to the next level. The Class will meet June 15 through Aug. 6, Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Hamlet Campus. Not only is this training offered to students at no cost, students who complete the bootcamp in good standing may be eligible for a $750 Completion Scholarship. The "Counter-Clockwise" Summer Hack

​Did you know your ceiling fan has a "Summer Mode" and a "Winter Mode"? If you haven’t flipped the switch since Christmas, you might actually be making your AC work harder.

​ Dust off your fan and look for the small toggle switch on the motor housing. For the summer, your fan blades should be spinning Counter-Clockwise. This creates a "wind chill" effect by pushing air straight down, making you feel 6 to 8 degrees cooler without actually lowering the thermostat. If it's blowing air up, you’re just trapping the heat at the ceiling!

​ Want to know if your toilet is stealing money from your wallet? Drop 5 drops of food coloring into the tank (not the bowl) before you head to work this morning. Don't flush!
