Back in July we had the opportunity to build this awesome Farmers porch. During the design process the customers identified two major goals. First we wanted to create a comfortable outdoor living space that looked great. Second everything had to be low maintenance.

We were able to accomplish both of these goals by selecting a variety of durable yet attractive building products, and by attempting to optimize the available space during the design process.

In the end we were able to add approximately 250 sf of covered outdoor living space.

Over the past year or so I have been pretty terrible at posting on social media. Over the next few weeks I hope to highlight some of the projects we completed over the past year. We have been working closely with on most projects so I would encourage you to check them out as well!

It seems like an appropriate time to highlight the importance of bulk water control on the outside of your structure. Proper flashing, application of an effective WRB/drainage plane and providing adequate space between grade and your first row of siding/trim are all critical basic steps in preventing the premature decay of your house or out building.

While we have had a bit of a hiatus from social media we have been busy working! This 1980s colonial was in need of a bit of a facelift. Our goals were to craft a solution that was low maintenance and highly durable while still aesthetically pleasing. For this we chose hardie plank siding, composite decking and trimmed everything in PVC.
