Registration for the next Louisiana Fortify Homes Program (LFHP) lottery opens at 8 a.m. on Monday, June 1, and closes at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 19.

Backed by $80 million in total funding, this round will award 3,000 grants of up to $10,000 to help homeowners upgrade to storm-resistant roofs. The expanded program is now available to homeowners in Acadia, Jefferson Davis and Lafayette parishes.

How does a FORTIFIED Roof prepare your home for the next storm? It provides layers of protection that work together to strengthen vulnerable areas of the home:

💧 A sealed roof deck helps prevent water intrusion.
🏠 Optional Hail Supplement, requires an impact-resistant roof cover that can better withstand hail. If using shingles, make sure they’re rated “Good” or “Excellent.”
💨 Wider drip edge and fully adhered starter strips strengthen roof edges to keep wind from getting underneath.
