Keep warm and protect your pipes!!!

If you have not already done so, be sure to disconnect garden hoses from your hose spigot. This will help reduce the risk of burst pipes inside your home. Check the insulation around your plumbing pipes in your attics and crawlspace. Keep the inside temperature above 55° if you are leaving for an extended period of time.

As always, if you need help in the event your pipes do burst, or preventive measures, give us a call!

As we prepare to enter a new year and you are ready to tackle your projects big or small...remember to research your contractors, home improvement folks or handyman/woman.

There are lots of great folks out there, be sure you get one of the good ones by looking for these essential items:

-Insured. Be sure the folks doing work on your property are adequately insured.

-Licensed. You can check the licensure here; https://verify.tn.gov/ select either contractor or home improvement. Many times, mortgage companies will not value the improved areas if the contractors are not licensed.

-Referrals. Always ask for referrals, photos of work performed, some way to verify the folks you chose are capable and qualified to perform the work at your property.

Hi Everyone! Time for our next post.

The heat of summer has come early! If you have not had your HVAC system serviced for the season, there is still time to do it. A properly maintained HVAC system will perform more efficiently, longer and with less issues. Many HVAC companies offer a maintenance plan and are very reasonable. Do you homework and interview your providers. As always, if you need assistance give us a call!

As a reminder, HCRS is a full service general contractor, but don't let that scare you! We handle all projects big & small.

Hello all! Hope you are all holding up well through these times.

Time for our next post.

Spring is upon us, with all the time we've had lately, I'm sure Spring cleaning has already started and possibly finished. In the midst of your hard work, I have a few questions for you.

If you had an emergency and you needed to shut off your main water or gas supply, do you know where the shut-off valves are? Could you explain to your kids or spouses how to get to them? Explain how to shut them off?

Take a few minutes and bring your family members to these locations and explain what to do. The ability to locate and shut off these main supply valves could mean the difference in a minor issue and a catastrophic event.

Tag these valves and write your utility department's emergency contact information on these tags to ensure the numbers are readily available to make the call once you shut off the main supply.
