This place has been abandoned for a few years. I needed a lot of TLC. 

We started by mowing grass that was over 4 feet tall in the front and cutting down weeds over 6 foot tall in the baThe next step was removing a very large oak tree in the back with a base over 5 feet wide..

We will be gong back for phase 2 soon...

**Before & After from a landscaping job we completed in Gastonia**

Another full transformation by Pro Series Lawn Care.

We started by clearing out everything — dead shrubs, blue juniper, weeds, grass, brush, sticks, and even an old concrete patio. After that, we brought in and spread 60 tons of dirt and topsoil to re-grade the property.

We trimmed the remaining shrubs and trees to give them a fresh, clean look. Then we installed a new flagstone patio, fresh mulch, encore azalea shrubs, silver leaf gardenias, and river rock edging.

To finish it off, we laid Kentucky Blue sod across the entire yard and buried the gutter downspouts, extending them to the property line.

The result is a brand new landscape that completely changes the look of this home.

When planting Trees or Shrubs, always remove the metal cage before setting in the ground and here's why:

🔹 Root Growth Restriction – Metal cages (or wire baskets) can impede root expansion, leading to girdling roots and poor stability.
🔹 Long-Term Damage – Even if the tree appears to establish well, roots may eventually grow into the metal, restricting nutrient and water uptake.
🔹 Tree Health & Longevity – A tree with unrestricted root growth will develop a stronger, more resilient root system.

Best Practice When Planting a Balled & Burlapped (B&B) Tree:

✔️ Remove the metal cage completely if possible.
✔️ If full removal isn’t practical, cut away at least the top 1/3 to 1/2 of the cage after placing the tree in the hole.
✔️ Also, remove or loosen the burlap to prevent it from inhibiting root growth.

Taking these extra steps will help ensure your tree thrives for years to come! 🌳💚
