Honoring Juneteenth
Today, we pause to recognize and celebrate Juneteenth, a day that commemorates freedom, resilience, and an important chapter in American history.
Observed each year on June 19, Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedomβmore than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.
It's a day to reflect, learn, and honor the generations who fought for equality while celebrating the strength, culture, and contributions of Black communities across our nation.
At Restoration 1 of NW Cobb, we believe strong communities are built through compassion, understanding, and supporting one another.
Today, we encourage everyone to take a moment to learn, listen, and celebrate the importance of this day.
