🐢Almost uniquely among sea turtle populations worldwide, Hawaii’s honu haul themselves onto beaches to sun themselves, a behavior rarely seen elsewhere. Scientists think it may help regulate body temperature, avoid predators, or speed up digestion — but it makes them one of the few places on Earth where you can reliably spot turtles resting right on the sand.🐢
