Your fence looks like this? Don’t replace it yet!

If your fence, siding, or patio furniture is covered in this green algae or fungus, you might be able to clean it instead of replacing it.

Here’s what I used: pool bleach, water, and a surfactant.

The surfactant helps the solution stick to the surface longer, so it can actually do its job.

And yes… it was raining while I was doing this. 😂

Before spraying, I soaked the grass really well with water because bleach can damage or kill your grass.

Then, apply the solution and let it sit for about 5 to 10 minutes.

Don’t let it dry.

If it’s still dirty, apply it again.

And now… look at this!

That is a completely different fence.

So before you spend thousands replacing your fence or siding, try cleaning it first.

Just be careful with bleach, protect your plants and grass, and always use the proper dilution and safety precautions.

We recently soft washed and pressure washed the exterior of a brick home, and while we were working, we noticed that the sealant in some of the vertical expansion joints was damaged.

The homeowner asked us to take care of it, so after we finished cleaning the house, we repaired the joints.

And let me tell you… the heat was crazy that day. 🥵

It took us about two hours just to remove the old damaged silicone, clean everything up, and install the new sealant.

If you ever need to do this yourself, it’s actually pretty simple.

First, remove the old, damaged silicone.

Then, clean the joint as well as you can. You want to remove any dirt, debris, or loose material before applying the new sealant.

Finally, fill the joint with the new sealant and smooth it out.

Pro tip: When you cut the tip of your sealant tube, make the opening about the same size as the expansion joint.

If the opening is too small, you’ll have a hard time filling the joint evenly and you’ll make the job much harder than it needs to be.

Painting a home white for a realtor friend vs painting a spa with high ceilings, a custom limewash finish and long tall walls plus every single thing you need to make your spa a cozy place for your clients are two completely different projects. They are not even in the same category. A potential client told us that we should charge the same, do you agree? Having a budget does not mean that you mandate the price and the contractor has to do everything for your budget. It means we will do everything possible for that budget but can’t just do everything you want.

We finished painting a town house and we charged the client $4500. We painted only the walls and fixed a couple of holes from tv mounts. We also@Painted a door and some window trim.
