OutdoorPractice

OutdoorPractice W Land Works is a Houston area landscape design firm founded by Jonathan Williams that provides functional low maintenance landscapes.

By selecting beautiful, low maintenance plants and utilizing strong designs we can reduce or avoid the weekly invasion and cost of landscaping crews. Our designs showcase climate specific plants and use hardscape elements to fulfill our client’s vision as well as staying true to our design aesthetic. The designs we create allow for a landscape to have a purpose. This purpose is fulfilled as our client's share and enjoy their landscapes everyday.

Our take on updating a historic house in Houston’s River Oaks. The goal was not to force a style but find balance between the buildings and landscape in a fresh way.

Clean lines, simple palette, and enough blurred edges to make the large pool feel settled.

In the back you can see our favorite part, the steps from the upper terrace that continue right into the pool.

Excited to share more of this project once it stops raining enough in Houston to finish.

There are some great details we can’t wait to share.

Construction starting this summer.

We are reimagining the Sanchez College of Education Plaza at the University of Texas. For us that starts with drawings and answering the questions I kept coming back to: what does a front porch feel like at this scale? How can hospitality design thinking shape a campus? Not a place to pass through but a place the reaches out and welcomes you in.

We will share more as this project kicks off.
