There is a difference between someone who can follow instructions and someone who can recognize a need and take initiative.
You shouldn't always have to be asked.
Strong leaders, team members and partners pay attention. They recognize where help is needed and determine how they can contribute.
That's initiative.
See the need. Feel the need. Fill the need.
Don't wait for an assignment when the need is already apparent. If you have the ability and opportunity to contribute, take action.
Because having the ability means nothing if you refuse to use it.
