Our team showed up to the office repping their Spurs gear and bringing that Game 6 energy with them. We build things for a living, but tonight we are cheering something else to the finish line.

We couldn't be more excited to welcome our newest interns to the team!

Their first two days set the tone for what's ahead — connecting with our executive leadership, getting to know each other over a team-building afternoon at Game On HTX, and touring Greco Structures to learn about their work and get some real, hands-on experience.

We believe the best internships are ones where you walk away with relationships, context, and a genuine feel for the industry. We're proud to be building that kind of experience from day one.

Here's to a great summer ahead!

S&P Breaks Ground on The Wald at Woodcreek

S&P was proud to join their development, design, and construction partners for the groundbreaking ceremony celebrating the start of construction on the new multi-family complex, The Wald at Woodcreek. Despite the heavy rain, attendees gathered to show their support for a project that was years in the making.

The ceremony opened with remarks from S&P Chief Revenue Officer, John Marshall, who thanked guests for braving the weather and recognized the importance of the project.

“Important projects get done because of determination. That is one common characteristic of every successful construction project. If you're not determined to make it happen, you're going to find a reason for it not to happen. But here we are today, on a day like this, celebrating the official beginning of this project,” said Marshall.

Bringing a fresh vision of modern living to Humble, The Wald will introduce a thoughtfully designed, lifestyle‑focused residential community to the area. Spanning more than 300,000 square feet, the 300‑unit garden‑style development will feature ten three‑story apartment buildings, anchored by a central clubhouse and dedicated leasing center that will serve as welcoming gathering points for residents.

Created to foster both comfort and connection, the community will offer an array of amenities — from a resort‑style pool courtyard to a lively beer garden and an expansive dog park. Residents will also enjoy flexible, convenient parking options throughout the property. Once complete, The Wald at Woodcreek will not only deliver high‑quality housing but also contribute meaningfully to the area’s continued growth and development.

“It's tough to get a project going and I applaud the entire team and everybody involved for what you guys have done to get this thing started,” said George Pontikes, S&P CEO. “I’m looking forward to the topping out ceremony as we continue to see progress take shape and ultimately, the most important milestone of all — the cutting of the ribbon — where we are able to open this up and welcome the community.”

The final speaker, International Investors Group President, Arturo Barragan spoke on the determination of the entire team and what it took to get this project started.

“There's a tremendous amount of development, not only in our project, but with all the industrial projects in the surrounding area that are going to drive job creation and growth. The Wald will be well-positioned to serve that expanding community,” said Barragan. “We're very excited about this project. It's probably been one of the projects where we have invested the most time in pushing forward, and we’re looking forward to seeing it completed in about a year.”

S&P is honored to serve as General Contractor on this important project for Humble residents. We are grateful to our partners including Steinberg Dickey Collaborative, SouthState Bank, Pontikes, International Investors Group, Greystar and Benchmark Engineering Corporation.

The Wald at Woodcreek is scheduled for completion October 2027.

S&P was proud to join Humble ISD, district leadership, campus staff, and community members for the groundbreaking ceremony celebrating the start of construction on the new Ross Sterling Middle School in Humble, Texas.

"What excites me most about this project is what it means for the kids who are going to walk through those doors in 2027. That's who we're building for," said Nic Flannery, S&P President.

The new Ross Sterling Middle School will replace an aging campus with a forward-looking facility designed to serve the students and families of Humble ISD for generations to come. Located at 1100 Rustic Timbers Drive, the 215,820-square-foot campus will accommodate 1,302 students in grades six through eight and include academic neighborhoods, science and CTE lab spaces, performing arts facilities, a competition gymnasium, dining commons, and full athletic fields with track, football, and soccer.

The project was shaped through an extensive programming process rooted in Humble ISD's educational vision for the 21st-century learner. The design, led by Kirksey Architecture, organizes the campus into grade-level neighborhoods — smaller learning communities within the larger building — to create a sense of belonging and personalized connection for every student. Flexible classrooms, collaborative break-out areas, and a technology-forward Learning Commons are designed to support a wide range of instructional approaches while giving teachers the tools to adapt the environment from year to year.

The building's design draws deeply from the identity of Humble itself. The architecture takes its cues from the region's layered history — the oil geology, pine forests, and coastal sands of the Gulf Coast landscape, the pipeline and railroad infrastructure that shaped the city in the early twentieth century, and the aviation and energy industries that define its future. Materials including brick, wood, steel, and aluminum translate that industrial heritage into a building that feels rooted in place while looking ahead. Shading canopies, columned facades, and structured outdoor gathering areas bring the story of Humble's landscape into the daily experience of students and staff.

"I've been on this project since the early stages, so today means a lot. Watching it come out of the ground is exactly what you work toward," said Brock Rhodes, S&P Project Executive.

S&P is honored to serve as General Contractor on this important project for Humble ISD and the Humble community. We are grateful to our partners at Kirksey Architecture and the full project team — including Kimley Horn, Daily + Associates, LTY Engineers, and the many consultants who brought their expertise to this effort — for the collaboration that made this day possible.

Construction is scheduled for completion August 2027.
