A homeowner recently contacted us after receiving a quote of nearly $18,000 from a large HVAC company to replace their entire heating and cooling system.

After performing our own diagnostic evaluation, we found the actual problem was a cracked capillary tube on the TXV assembly, which had caused the refrigerant leak and system failure.

Instead of replacing the entire system, we repaired the leak, pressure tested the system, pulled a deep vacuum, recharged the refrigerant, and restored the equipment to proper operation.

When I started this business, the goal was simple — help people with their heating and cooling needs while making an honest living doing it.

Over time, it became something much bigger than that.

The people I serve are no longer just customers to me. They’re families. They’re homeowners who trust me to take care of one of the most important parts of their home and comfort.

That’s why when someone’s heat stops working in the middle of winter or their AC goes down during a hot summer week, I take it personally. It matters to me that it gets fixed quickly, correctly, and with care.

This business was never built around sales quotas or pushing things people don’t need. It was built around trust, relationships, and showing up when people need help the most.

I truly appreciate every person who has trusted me with their home and supported this journey. It means more than you know.

Homeowners and technicians alike — always verify power before servicing equipment, even if the disconnect is turned off.

This was a relatively new installation completed by another contractor. Unfortunately, the outdoor unit was wired directly, completely bypassing the disconnect, meaning there was actually no safe way to isolate power to the equipment.

Situations like this are exactly why proper installation practices and following NEC requirements matter. Safety devices are there for a reason — to protect both the technician and the homeowner.

Sometimes I just shake my head, but moments like this also make me thankful for the mentors and training that taught me to do things the right way, not just the fast way.

Quality workmanship and safety should never be optional.
