About Us

Villatoro & Sons Landscaping is a local landscaping company focused on sustainable techniques and eco-friendly practices to create a thriving, functional landscape that benefits the environment. Some of our practices include the installation of rain gardens and use of native plants.

Position Overview

We are now looking for crew members to join the team, who share the same passion for sustainable landscaping. Daily tasks include weeding, edging, pruning, planting, mulching, and installing + transplanting plants.

This job is part time, 25-30 hours week from April until the end of December.

General Duties & Requirements:
* Daily tasks include but not limited to weeding, edging, pruning, planting, mulching, installing landscapes and gardens and stone gardens.
* Follow directions of crew leaders and follow company standards to provide the best service to clients
* Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
* Ideal candidate must have their own reliable transportation
* Must be on time for work, strong attention to detail, ability to take instruction and work independently. Must take pride in your work and carry yourself professionally.

At V&S sustainable landscape has quickly become our niche - were able to create spaces for clients to gather while enjoying native plant species. Fun Fact: native plants strengthen the biodiversity on the property and add year round interest!

We designed + created a fire pit area tucked along the backside of the property, surrounded by a series of beautiful Oak Trees. With cost efficiency top of mind, we chose to install Delaware River rocks which minimize soil disruption to the critical root zones of the Oaks.

By adding native plants to the understory canopy we removed heavily invasive groundcover and installed Hydrangea Quercifolia ‘pee wee’. P*e Wee adds interest during winter months and compliments the stunning foliage coloration, all while strengthening the biodiversity on the grounds of the property. Hydrangea Anomala, another native plant, are great climbers along stone walls and allow a sweet fragrance near the entrance of the property’s carport.

As we explored the grounds of the property we stumbled across a lovely Magnolia Grandifolia that was growing in an area that would have caused stress to the tree’s development, we managed to dig it up + transplant the tree to a more ideal location where it will cement itself as a foundational tree for years to come.

•Did you know that the Prince George’s County Rain Check Rebate Program offers rebate incentives to homeowners, businesses, and others to install practices that will improve stormwater runoff quality, reduce pollution, and improve local stream and river health.

•What this funds: Seven types of stormwater practices are eligible for rebates:

rain barrels, cisterns, rain gardens, urban tree canopy, pavement removal, permeable pavement, and green roofs.

•The total maximum rebate amount for the lifetime of the property is $6,000 for residential properties and $20,000 for commercial, industrial, and institutional properties. An applicant may complete multiple projects until the total maximum rebate amount is met.
