I built this customer a new deck last year. It had a smaller footprint than their old deck, leaving an exposed area of rock and a portion of their retaining wall that seemed out of place.

I came back this year to make good use of that space. I installed a simple hollandstone paver patio and stepping stone walkway to give them a proper path from the deck stairs to their driveway, and to give them an additional area to hang out and enjoy their backyard.
