After much thought, consideration, and rumination, we have decided to pass the Goats On The Go Indy grazing torch on to a colleague of ours. Goat grazing has been a big part of our lives for the last 5 years and the last two years were our best seasons yet- with many thanks to each of you! It has been a true joy working with goats to provide an ancient solution to plant management and we continue to be in awe of their capabilities and innate nutritional wisdom. Thank you for your support and trust over the years. Most of all, thank you for caring for your land in the thoughtful way that you do.

So while we (Hannah and Kaitlin) won't be offering grazing services any longer, our colleagues, Christian and Heather Hambrick, will be taking over grazing in many of our former service areas. Christian and Heather are going into their 3rd year of goat grazing and are excited to acquire some new projects and service areas! They would be more than happy to answer questions, review your projects and have a chat about what working with them would look like for you. You can reach out to the Hambricks here https://www.goatsonthego.com/hambrick. Tell them we sent you!

And stay tuned as we develop a new goat project... updates and information coming soon!

Goats are a generalist species, meaning they can and will, eat a variety of plants. Something that is very important to the humans who care for these goats, is the fight against invasive plant species. People hire our goats for a variety of reasons, but the vast majority of the time our clients are fighting invasives in some capacity and the goats are one of several tools in their tool belt during their project. We are happy the girls can help remove vegetation for any project they take on, but its a double win when their eating contributes to the local fight against invasives here ❤️😎

As we go forward we hope to show you over the seasons and years, how some of our clients continue AFTER we leave.

A cute video here to show our girls eating an invasive groundcover on the site of one of our repeat grazing projects. This groundcover can be hit or miss with them but this year they have been eager eaters!

Last week, the girls pushed through that heat wave like the rest of us. Luckily, the site they grazed was PERFECT for the weather. The girls had ample shade, lots of honeysuckle, fresh cold well water to drink, and the love and attention of their hosts! Even though it was ridiculously hot, we think this may have been the best work the girls have ever done. Our clients spent all weekend going in after the girls to remove the woody stems and already this habitat looks so different and we cant wait to share later! Proud of the work our girls did here, its really representative of how powerful goat power can be! Goats On The Go South Central Indiana

One of our many goat supervisors, informing us we better hurry up, they require sustenance.

The girls were on the move again today, still eating their way through Indianapolis! The girls have been so great this season, doing AMAZING work, loading and unloading like pros, we are so proud of our girls.

Can't wait to show off the work they did this week during the heatwave. It was absolutely amazing 😍

Goats are browsers, as opposed to sheep who are grazers. Browsers like our girls, would prefer to hold their heads up to eat, so hanging branches are their jam.

Browsers will eat grasses though, it's just not their favorite dish. The rain didn't do us any favors lol, but we are proud of the girls for definitely making an impact here! The owners have already been turning their wonderful backyard into a native flower and wildlife habitat, and will be planting in more natives now that the girls have stomped and grazed around!

Grasses projects are something we'd like to pursue with a Sheep On The Go Indy herd of sheep! That's not ready yet, but it's in the works so hopefully that will be something for the future! In the meantime the girls loved changing it up, and are off on their next adventure. ❤️🌱🐐

The goats were also off to the races this past weekend! 🏁 This was their second season grazing this beautiful Indianapolis location, and the girls made themselves right at home! The amazing clients who hired the girls are clearing out some honeysuckle, burning bush, and multiflora rose in order to get more native species planted. They have already done so much work after the girls came through last season and we were so excited to see all the progress they've already made. 🌱🐐❤️

It was a goat winter wonderland a few weeks ago! As pretty as the snow is, I'm sure the goats would agree with their humans when we say: bring on springtime and GREEN THINGS! Less than a month till the first day of spring! 🐐🌿

The girls continue to enjoy their winter retreat! Warm days like today get us all wishing it was springtime though!

The girls are famous! This past week they traveled down to Greenwood to do some management of a dam that was home to a poison ivy hotspot and their story got picked up by a local newspaper! We are so grateful to be working in communities that see the value of goats and that want to manage their properties in green ways when they can ❤️!

Targeted goat grazing is for big spots and small spots, flat spots and steep spots, urban spots and rural spots! Contact us if you're interested in seeing if goats can help you with your vegetation management needs! 🐐

Our ladies have been exploring a beautiful property out in Noblesville this week! They are making quick work of honeysuckle, grapevine, poison ivy, and more. All in a days work for these hard working goats! As you can see they take their job seriously and really get all up in the vegetation ❤️
