We may take it for granted, but air transport is pretty remarkable. As is the infrastructure that supports the takeoff and landing of these giant planes. Airport pavements have to be as high-performance as possible, and are often the testing ground for advanced pavement innovation.
Across multiple states, airports are using a product called VRAM - Void Reducing Asphalt Membrane, to mitigate the risk of premature cracking along pavement lane joints.
