⛈️⛈️⛈️ It may be raining buuuuut I got SO much accomplished today before noon!!

•Got an follow-up appointment (AND next steps) scheduled with my NRCS agent

•Found out that I MAY need to get my TRACT number (not the same as a FARM number)

•Finished my EGGS sign 🪧 (the pic is from yesterday when I called it KAPUT!)

•Worked on FARM STAND (need some roofing nails to attach my shingles)

•Worked on FARM STAND SIGN (Oh my good golly! I JUST realized that I might have 2️⃣ signs if I have another in the back!)

•Fed the chickens & ducks

•Answered phone call from my appointment accidentally overbooking for tomorrow (y’all that was a blessing in DISGUISE!!🥸)

•Got the trash receptacles to the front before the TORRENTIAL 💧💧

AND I am still working y’all!! 💪🏽💪🏽

A brief encounter with someone tried to get me down… BUT LOOK 👀 AT GOD! 😇😇

Pray for my neighbor Cliff (he would walk in front of my house 🏡 from the adjoining neighborhood and his wife Karen would put a Christmas card in my mailbox.📬) Found out today that his wife died in February, 3 months after diagnosis.

Are you a new, aspiring, or expanding farmer veteran who wants to build the knowledge, skills, and confidence to grow a successful agricultural operation?

FVC Texas is excited to partner with the Council for Healthy Food Systems (CHFS) and Farmers Assisting Return Military (F.A.R.M.) to offer FIVE SPONSORED SPOTS to FVC Texas members for the Fall 2026 Groundwork Farmer Training Program!

🌾 WHAT IS GROUNDWORK?

Groundwork is a 12-week hybrid training program designed to help beginning and expanding farmers develop practical farming and business skills. The program combines online learning, live Zoom sessions, and hands-on, in-person farm days in the San Antonio area.

The Groundwork curriculum focuses on building a farm operation that fits your resources, goals, and situation — from enterprise selection and infrastructure to finances, markets, pricing, profitability, marketing, and developing an integrated farm plan.

🌱 You will learn about:
• Farm vision and enterprise planning
• Resources, capacity & constraints
• Enterprise selection & system fit
• Infrastructure & sequencing
• Financial planning
• Market channels
• Business ownership & financial records
• Cost analysis, pricing & profitability
• Sales, distribution & customer development
• Marketing, branding & risk management
• Developing your working farm business plan
