The forecast remains on track with sunny skies each day and winds holding in the 5 to 15 MPH range from the east during the day and calming out at night. The only issues will be the dusty conditions, otherwise it is looking like a great State Championship weekend!

Lowered the wind speeds this weekend.

General Discussion
For the past several runs of the models, the wind speeds have been trending down on Saturday and Sunday. Therefore, I have lowered the forecast wind gusts to less than 15 MPH. Otherwise, only minor tweaks to the temperatures have been made.

I’ve made no major changes to the forecast. I am still looking at gusty winds on Saturday and Sunday. Therefore, an Infield Weather Advisory for Wind may be needed for Saturday and Sunday.

Changes to the Previous Forecast
Increased the wind speeds Saturday and Sunday.

General Discussion
The last few model runs are showing slightly stronger winds on both Saturday and Sunday. The winds will begin to increase early Saturday morning, and it will likely be gusty at sunrise Saturday morning. Winds will gust to 15 to 20 MPH by noon Saturday and continue through the afternoon. The winds will diminish Saturday evening, and then increase again Sunday with gusts in the 15 to 20 MPH range by afternoon on Sunday. I’m still expecting dry conditions through the week and into race weekend which will mean very dusty conditions in the infield.

An Infield Weather Advisory for Wind may be needed for Saturday and Sunday.

General Discussion
The weather for the State Championship is shaping up to be a great Fall weekend with cool nights and warm days. Skies will be sunny for the Championship. We will see some gusty winds on Saturday as high pressure builds in a little stronger bringing wind gusts of 15 to 20 MPH. Otherwise, it is looking like a weather hazard-free weekend.

With dry conditions all week, expect dusty conditions for the race weekend.

Changes to the Previous Forecast
Lowered the wind gusts today and Sunday.

General Discussion
I lowered the wind gusts based on the last model guidance. However, winds will still gust in the 20 to 25 MPH range today and Sunday. We will see the winds drop off by this evening. Winds will be around 5 MPH Sunday morning but become gusty by Sunday afternoon as a secondary push of cold air spreads across the racecourse. Wind chills are still expected to drop into the mid to upper 30s early Sunday morning, but warm into the 40s by 9 AM.

Changes to the Previous Forecast
Lowered the temperature Sunday morning.

General Discussion
The cold front is forecast to move across the racecourse between 5 PM and 6 PM. Until then winds will be in the 5-10 MPH with a few gusts to 12 MPH. Scattered showers will accompany the cold front and could linger for a few hours afterwards. Rainfall is expected to remain below 0.05”.

After the frontal passage, winds will increase to 15 to 25 MPH by 7 PM this evening, and continue to increase to 20 to 35 MPH throughout most of the evening. The winds will diminish somewhat after midnight, but remain in the 15 to 25 MPH range, which will continue into Saturday.

This cold air push is coming in a little stronger than previously forecast and I’m now expecting the low Sunday morning in the lower 40s. With winds in the 5 to 10 MPH range at the time, wind chills will drop into the mid 30s.
