It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our longtime accounts manager and beloved member of our office family, Mary Jo Maxey Cain. She passed peacefully yesterday, around 5:00 PM, surrounded by her loved ones.

For many years, Mary Jo was the heart of our workplace—welcoming, dedicated, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Her hard work and commitment kept everything running smoothly. Her kindness, warmth, and dedication touched the lives of so many, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Please keep her family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We will share details about services as they become available.

Rest peacefully, Mary Jo—you will be greatly missed.

Edit: Mary Jo's service will be Monday, March 30 at 2pm, visitation will start at 1pm at Live Oak Baptist in Jacksboro.

Winter Weather Well Wisdom:

If the power is off for an extended period, turn off your well if you believe it is frozen. After the power has come on, test the well and do not let it run without water coming out. This will damage the equipment.

❄️ Winter Weather Reminder from Erwin Water Well ❄️

With the cold temperatures coming this weekend, we want to share a quick reminder about protecting your water lines. Pipe insulation is helpful because it slows down heat loss — but it doesn’t create heat. If temperatures stay below freezing for an extended period, even insulated pipes can still freeze, especially in unheated or exposed areas.

Think of insulation like a winter coat: it helps, but without a heat source, cold can still win given enough time.

To reduce the risk of frozen or burst pipes, consider extra precautions such as keeping heat on in buildings, opening cabinet doors, letting faucets drip, or using approved heat tape where appropriate.

A little preparation now can help prevent big problems later. Stay warm and stay safe this weekend! 💧❄️
