Through etching or engraving, the design is sculpted into the concrete so it will last as long as the concrete itself. Coloring is achieved, not by painting or coating the surface, but by deeply staining the concrete so the color won’t fade, peel or flake. It is a deep penetrating acrylic or chemical/acid stain that is used to transform the color. A permanent, precise pattern is engraved (cut) into the hard concrete with a patented concrete engraver either before or after the staining is completed to achieve the desired results. This separation of processes is beneficial to the client. The staining can be done to achieve the desired color and effect, and we can come back at a later time to engrave the chosen pattern or design if you choose to do so. Acid Staining is a coloring process involving a chemical reaction with the cement itself. A solution made with water, acid and inorganic salts react with minerals already present in the concrete. The result of this reaction is color. It is extremely durable, fade resistant and can be applied to both interior and exterior areas. The process occurs IN, not ON top of the concrete. The acidic stain produces uneven, translucent color effects like the shadings of natural stone and marble. The final color is dependent on the chemical composition and age of the concrete. Water Reducible Staining is an environmentally friendly penetrating waterborne acrylic pigmented dye process. Water reducible stain is designed to give predictable natural variegated colors or predictable bright solid colors. Differing colors can be layered over the top of each other for a color blending. It also allows the applicator to make custom colors by mixing different concentrate colors together. For interior and exterior concrete, horizontal or vertical. Custom Designed Engraving are design patterns that can be engraved into existing concrete are virtually unlimited. Your concrete can stained then engraved to look like tile, stone, brick, slate, and more. We can also engrave custom designs into your floor; the limit is your imagination. We have templates to choose from, as well as the capability to produce custom templates based on your photographs, drawings, or ideas.
