Today is an exciting day for our local building industry!

We’re proud to celebrate a major milestone for the Home Builders Association of Jackson, Hillsdale & Lenawee as the Professional Women in Building (PWB) Council is officially chartered by the National Association of Home Builders. This achievement is the result of months of dedication from an incredible group of women committed to strengthening our industry, supporting one another, developing future leaders, and giving back to the communities we serve.

Please join us in congratulating PWB Chair Casey Barratt, Vice Chair Cat Fosgate, Secretary Nicole Johnson, and the entire founding Professional Women in Building Council on this outstanding accomplishment!

As their first community impact initiative, the PWB Council is launching 👜 Pack a Purse — a donation drive to support women entering local shelters throughout Jackson, Hillsdale, and Lenawee Counties.

We’re encouraging our friends, partners, and community members to help by donating new or gently used purses filled with personal care essentials such as:

✔️ Deodorant
✔️ Feminine hygiene products
✔️ Shampoo & Conditioner
✔️ Toothbrushes & Toothpaste
✔️ Soap & Body Wash
✔️ Hair Brushes & Combs

Donations can be dropped off at the HBA office or brought to the HBA Car Show & Family Fun Night on July 23rd.

The foundation is poured, prepped, and waiting for its new home!

We’re excited to share that this beautiful Heckaman Home is officially ready to be set. With the groundwork complete and everything in place, the next phase of construction is right around the corner. There’s nothing quite like seeing months of planning and preparation come together as a home begins to take shape.

At Sayre Builders, we love partnering with Heckaman Homes to provide quality, efficient, and customizable housing solutions for our clients. From foundation to finish, we’re proud to be part of the journey.

🚧 MAJOR PROGRESS UPDATE – ADRIAN BUILD! 🚧

What a difference a few weeks can make!

We stopped out to our Adrian project on an absolutely beautiful day to capture some updated photos, and the progress is incredible. The pole barn is officially up, the concrete driveway has been poured and looks amazing, drywall is complete, trim is being installed, and the bathrooms are really starting to come together.

Every stage of the building process is exciting, but this is when a house truly starts feeling like a home. Seeing all of the details come together and the vision become reality is why we love what we do.

We can’t wait to share even more updates as this beautiful custom home continues to take shape!

𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞: 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐚 & 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐦

What should have been the realization of a dream quickly turned into a nightmare.

Just weeks after purchasing a home for herself and her son, Malcolm, Marissa discovered a crushed sewer line beneath Page Avenue. What began as a plumbing issue became a major excavation and infrastructure project with repair costs exceeding $40,000.

For more than seven months, Marissa and Malcolm have relied on a portable toilet outside their home. Simple things many of us take for granted, like using a bathroom, taking a shower, or doing laundry at home, have become nearly impossible.

Marissa, an employee of the Community Action Agency who spends her days helping others, now finds herself in need of support from the community she serves.

Through a GoFundMe campaign - link 👇- nearly $9,800 has already been raised, but a significant gap remains.

The HBA's Builders Care program is working to bring together contractors, suppliers, lenders, nonprofits, government partners, and community members to help find a path forward for this family.
