Customer Appreciation Post

One of the best parts of this business is the relationships we build along the way.
After nearing completion of this kitchen project, the customer surprised the crew EACH with a full rack of homemade ribs. I'd like to think that's a pretty good sign they are happy with the work so far!!
We're incredibly thankful for customers who trust us with their homes and make us feel appreciated. While we always strive for quality workmanship, it's not every day the final payment comes with barbecue sauce 😋

In the remodeling business, not every day is a huge payday. Some days you make money and some days you learn lessons the hard way. But both have value!
After 32 years in this business, I've learned that every challenge, unexpected issue, difficult project, and problem solved only makes us better at what we do for the next customer. That experience matters just as much as the paycheck.
The goal isn't just building beautiful kitchens, baths, and homes... it's building knowledge, trust, and a reputation that lasts.
That's the difference experience brings to the jobsite at JLG.

Some jobs hit a little different.
While renovating a kitchen for a longtime acquaintance, she reminded me of a story from when I was just a little kid growing up next door to her family. She said she was pushing me on her swing one day and asked what I wanted to be when I grew up.
Without hesitation, little Johnny told her... "I'm going to own my own construction company someday". She laughed a little because everyone thought I'd probably grow up to be a mechanic like my father. But somehow that little kid already had his mind made up.
Fast forward all these years later... 32 years of owning John L. Guiswite, Inc. and this is still what I love to do every single day.
Aside from a short detour studying accounting in college, construction has been my life from the very beginning. Funny how some dreams start on a backyard swing set and end up becoming a lifetime career.
Now here I am... remodeling the kitchen of the same neighbor who heard that dream all those years ago.
Life has a pretty cool way of coming full circle. 🔨🏡

Opened the supply tote inside our cargo work van today while on site looking for color putty, found this little 'employee of the month' snake skin instead. Curious as to how long we've been riding around with him. Could still be in there for all we know, ICKK!!
Safe to say productivity dropped for a solid 10 minutes this afternoon. 🐍😂

We're honored to share a reminder of why we love what we do.

Recently, we completed the installation of safety grab bars and exterior railings for a homeowner preparing to return home from the hospital. Receiving this thank you card afterwards meant more than words can express.
Knowing the improvements we made helped create a safe environment and allowed their loved one to come home comfortably & confidently is exactly why we take pride in every project.
At JLG Inc, it's not always about the large projects- sometimes the smallest projects make the biggest difference in someone's life.
