Golden hour looks good on this one.

A custom Lowcountry home designed to feel timeless, warm and completely at home in its surroundings.

Some homes are designed around the view. This one was designed around the way you want to experience it.

Doors open. Ocean breeze coming through. Dinner outside while the sun drops behind the Folly Beach Pier. A quick swim before calling it a night.

This is what coastal living should feel like.

Not simply a home at the beach, but a place that makes you want to slow down, stay outside a little longer and take in where you are.

Outdoor living should feel effortless. Every detail of this pool supports the way our clients wanted to live, making time at home feel a little more like time away.

The elevated pool was designed as a natural extension of the home, bringing together a spacious sun shelf, integrated spa, full deck, covered living and dining areas, and a dedicated pool house.

The result is more than a collection of beautiful features. It is a private retreat created for slow mornings by the water, afternoons with family and evenings that continue comfortably outdoors.

Our second Curious Builder Collective session is in the books, and this one sparked a lot of great conversation around Multiple Streams of Income and what it really means to build a stronger, more sustainable business.

The discussion went well beyond simply finding another source of revenue. Builders shared ideas around maintenance and service programs, payment structures, change orders, AI, operational efficiencies, company culture, and ways to create opportunities that complement the work we are already doing.

But one takeaway stood out above the rest: π—ͺ𝗲’𝗿𝗲 π—―π—²π˜π˜π—²π—Ώ π˜π—Όπ—΄π—²π˜π—΅π—²π—Ώ.

There is tremendous value in sitting in a room with other builders, sharing what is working, talking openly about what is not, and learning from people who may already be where you hope to take your business next.

That is what makes the Curious Builder Collective so valuable.

We are grateful to help facilitate the Charleston Collective and create space for these conversations.

Only two sessions remain this year, with our next gathering on September 18, 2026, focused on Financing / Investors.

Looking forward to continuing to learn, share, and grow together.

A well designed home should make future maintenance easier, not more disruptive.

This removable tub panel provides direct access to the plumbing behind the surround. Concealed magnets hold the panel and trim securely in place, while precise alignment allows everything to blend seamlessly into the finished design.

Without this type of access, even a minor plumbing repair could require cutting into finished materials. It is a small detail, but one that can help protect the space, reduce unnecessary damage and simplify service for years to come.

Clear communication behind the scenes is what keeps a project moving forward with fewer surprises.

Our onsite meetings bring our PROject Managers and trade partners together to review the work firsthand, address questions, and confirm the next steps.

We document those decisions while they are still fresh and enter them into the Daily Notes in Buildertrend the same day. We also use Tasks to make sure every action item is assigned to the right person and nothing gets overlooked.

The recap is then shared with our vendors so responsibilities, details, and next steps are clearly understood. That consistency helps reduce confusion, rework, and unnecessary change orders.

Communication remains one of the highest return activities on any project, especially when everyone involved actively participates.

A seamless building experience does not happen by accident.

There is a point near the end of a custom build where every decision starts to feel final.

This room was one of those moments.

The original color was beautiful, but it was not quite giving the clients the feeling they wanted. And at this level, that feeling matters. Repainting or reworking a detail may add cost in the moment, but living with something that does not feel right carries its own cost β€” what Adam calls the cost of regret.

So the decision was made before move-in, while there was still time to get it right.

The result? A Roman clay finish with incredible depth, texture, and warmth, framed by arched doors, ceiling detail, and a view out to the water.

This is the part of custom building that cannot always be captured in a plan set or a selection sheet. It is the moment when the room finally feels the way it was meant to feel.

And that is a solid investment.

Around here, β€œMust Love Dogs” is more than a saying.

While building their home, our clients asked if there was a way to create a hidden doggy door that would give their puppies access from the living area to their own drive-under puppy space.

So, we built it into the cabinetry.

Closed, it looks like a beautiful custom cabinet. Open, it becomes the pups’ private entrance β€” leading down a ramp to their own little retreat, complete with a swing chair and access out to the grass.

That is the difference between building a house and building a home around the people β€” and pets β€” who will live there.

Custom should feel personal. It should solve real needs. It should include the details that make daily life better, easier, and more meaningful.

For this family, that meant a hidden puppy passage. And we were more than happy to make it happen.

A 2cm marble slab in a second-floor powder room is not your typical flooring install.

This took early planning, precise finished floor elevation adjustments, temporary framing removal, and a skilled team to get the stone safely lifted and set in place.

Thank you to Construction Resources for the fabrication and lift, and The Hardwood Flooring & Tile Guys LLC for the install.

Some selections require more than good taste. They require planning, coordination, and the right team to bring them to life.

For this second-floor powder room, the client selected a 2cm marble slab for the floor. It is a beautiful material, but not a typical installation β€” especially when it needs to be lifted into place and installed in a way that aligns perfectly with the surrounding finished flooring.

Our team began preparing for finished floor elevations early, during the planning and floor system design phases. The main floor tile selected for this area was a large-format tile, which is typically thicker and requires a thicker setting material. That can bring the finished floor elevation to 1” or more. The powder room marble was 2cm, or approximately .79”, so adjustments had to be made to ensure both materials would finish flush at the door threshold.

From there, the logistics became just as important as the design. Construction Resources fabricated the stone and lifted it into place with their machine. The Hardwood Flooring and Tile Guys handled the install. To allow the slab to be laid on a horizontal plane and eased into place, our team temporarily removed the framing from the entry wall. Once the stone was released into the mud bed, the wall could be reframed, sound insulation completed, and drywall continued.

This is the part of custom home building that most people never see, but it is what makes the finished result possible.

At this level, luxury is not only about the selections. It is about understanding what those selections require, planning for them early, and executing them with precision.
