My first Harvester peach harvest! 🍑

They finally started coming off the tree with just a gentle twist, so I knew it was time. After months of watering, fertilizing, and protecting them from pests, it’s rewarding to finally harvest homegrown peaches.

The clouds rolled in before another summer thunderstorm, and for a few minutes everything became calm and peaceful.

Elephant Ears – Day 90 🌿

After removing the yellow, drooping leaves, the plants are looking cleaner and still producing big new leaves.

Now I’ve noticed something has started chewing holes through them.

Muscadine Vines Update #5

The Cowart muscadine grapes are getting noticeably bigger, but they’re still firm, so I’m leaving them on the vine a little longer.

The Tara Scuppernong vine is healthy and growing well, but it still hasn’t produced any grapes this season.

It’s been interesting watching two varieties grow side by side at completely different speeds.

If you grow muscadines, what’s your favorite sign that they’re ready to harvest?

First harvest is complete, but I’m not giving up on this tomato plant yet. 🍅

I’m feeding it with 10-10-10 fertilizer, watering consistently, and hoping for another flush of flowers and fruit before the season ends.

🌶️ Sweet Banana Pepper Harvest!

I’ve always harvested my sweet banana peppers while they were yellow, but this time I decided to leave one on the plant and see what happened.

It ripened into a beautiful deep red! As sweet banana peppers mature, they usually become sweeter and develop a richer flavor.

I’m glad I gave it a try.

I spent months documenting this plum tree from tiny fruit to the final harvest.

There were setbacks, lessons, and plenty of waiting, but seeing those first homegrown plums made it all worth it.

🥒 Zucchini Update #6

I think my zucchini plant has reached the end of its season.

It produced several harvests earlier this summer, but now no new healthy squash are forming. The few that do start developing end up with blossom end rot, and most of the older leaves have died back.

Not every plant keeps producing forever, and that’s part of gardening. I’m thankful for the harvests I got, and I’ll be back with another zucchini next season.

How long do your zucchini plants usually produce before calling it quits?

🫑 Bell Peppers Update #2

Both of my bell pepper plants are still healthy, green, and continuing to grow, but neither has produced any new peppers since the last harvest.

Gardening is a good reminder that growth doesn’t always mean immediate results. Sometimes plants spend time putting energy into leaves and stems before setting more fruit.

I’m going to keep caring for them and see what happens over the next few weeks.
