At ownerbuiltdesign.com, we believe drafting puts the design on paper: but professional architectural oversight asks whether the whole project will work before construction begins.

A plan review can catch conflicting door swings, stair alignment issues, gaps between plans and elevations, code concerns, site constraints, and coordination problems before they become redesigns or change orders.

That is the difference between thoughtful oversight and a “rubber stamp.” A rubber stamp may approve a sheet; it does not necessarily test the decisions behind it.

For Hawaii projects, good review also considers the lot, daylight orientation: including the 10° southern offset: and, where applicable, the 65-foot coastal setback.

Clear drawings matter. So does the professional judgment behind them.
