Bee Removal in Katy – Real Case Study for Homeowners
A homeowner in Katy contacted me after seeing a large swarm of bees arriving near his home. From inside the house, they noticed the activity through the window and waited for the swarm to settle before checking outside. Once the bees calmed down, they saw that the colony was entering through a small gap on the side of the house and immediately looked for professional help.
He called me around 11 AM, and because we were finishing a complex job, we scheduled an inspection for later that afternoon around 5 PM. When we arrived, the bees were entering through a gap in the eave, and based on the activity, we initially suspected the hive might be inside the roof area. The homeowner mentioned that the attic was fully insulated with foam, which made it unlikely for bees to enter that space. That gave us a clue that the hive could be forming inside the rafter area or behind the siding.
Because the day had been hot, the infrared camera showed multiple heat points, making it difficult to identify the exact location. Still, the homeowner did not want to risk the bees spreading deeper into the structure, especially with small children in the home. We agreed to return the next morning to perform a full bee removal, regardless of where the hive was located.
The next morning, with cooler temperatures, the thermal camera finally revealed a clear heat signature behind the siding, very close to the roofline. When we opened the material, we found the hive hidden in a small corner where the insulation had not reached. The homeowner was right: the entire attic and walls were insulated, but the bees found the only unprotected space.
We removed the hive completely, cleaned the cavity, and performed a full sterilization treatment to prevent bees from returning to the same location. We also repaired and sealed the soffit area to protect the structure and ensure long‑term results.
If you see bees entering and exiting from the same spot—especially roof edges, gaps in siding, or openings in the eaves—there is a high chance a colony is forming inside. A bee removal service is not a DIY task. Professional tools and experience are required to avoid structural damage and prevent bees from returning.

Bee Removal in Old Katy – Real Case Study for Homeowners

Today I want to share a real bee removal case in Old Katy that shows why it’s important to act quickly when you notice bee activity near your home’s structure.

A homeowner from Old Katy contacted me around 11 AM after seeing bees swarming near the lower section of an exterior wall. He made the right decision by calling before the colony grew. When bees find an entry point, they can begin settling inside the structure, which leads to honey buildup, moisture issues, and long‑term structural damage.

After finishing another job that morning, I arrived around 4 PM. The bee activity was still visible, although slightly less than earlier. This is normal—once bees begin entering the structure, exterior activity decreases as the colony organizes inside.

We used our infrared camera to locate the hive, but afternoon heat can interfere with thermal readings. The next morning, with cooler temperatures, we scanned again. The lower area still didn’t show heat signatures, but higher up the wall the camera finally revealed the hotspot:
the bees had moved upward inside the wall and were building their hive at the highest point of the structure.

Once we identified the exact location, we performed a full professional bee removal, including:

Controlled opening of the structure

Hive extraction

Cleaning and removal of honey/comb

Treatment of the cavity

Proper sealing to prevent future activity

Important Advice for Homeowners in Katy, Cypress, and Surrounding Areas

If you see bees entering and exiting from the same spot—especially:

the base of a wall

gaps between brick and siding

roof edges

damaged or open structural areas

There is a high chance a colony is forming inside.

A bee problem is not a DIY task. Bees often choose hidden or difficult locations, and opening the structure without experience can cause unnecessary damage or leave behind honey and comb that attract new colonies.

Today we completed a professional bee removal service for a church in the Houston area after the staff noticed that the bee activity had increased and the bees were becoming more aggressive. At first, they didn’t think it was a serious issue because the bees seemed calm, but this year the activity grew significantly and people started to feel unsafe near the entrance.

When we arrived, we confirmed that this was a situation that required a professional structural bee removal. The bee activity was high, and the bees immediately began defending the area. Using thermal hive detection, we located the beehive inside the structure.

After explaining the full process to the person in charge, we performed a complete beehive removal. The hive measured approximately four feet inside the wall. This type of bee removal is not a DIY task. A structural beehive requires proper tools, protective equipment, and experience to remove safely.

I’m sharing the photos so you can see how a beehive can develop inside a structure and what a professional bee removal looks like. If you notice bee activity around your home or building, early inspection can prevent larger problems.

We responded to a case in Bakers Landing – Houston, where the homeowner received an unexpected warning:

Their landscaping guy told them he could no longer mow the backyard because the bees were getting aggressive around the top section of the shade.

The homeowner was surprised because just a few days earlier he had been working in the garden and didn’t see any bees.
But when he went to check, he couldn’t believe it:
there was heavy bee traffic going in and out of the shade.
He called a friend who “had experience with bees,” and the friend told him to “leave them alone for a few days so they can leave on their own.”

But that advice is not accurate.
When bees arrive and you see constant traffic, it means they already decided to stay.

Bees do NOT leave on their own.
And the longer they stay, the more they build:
honeycomb, brood, wax, honey, pheromones, scent that attracts future swarms.

The homeowner, now concerned about the activity and the risk of someone getting stung, called us for a professional inspection.
What did we find?
Even though the bees had arrived just a day earlier, they had already started building honeycombs and were working fast to expand the hive.
This is very common in Houston:
a colony can build comb within hours, especially in warm structures like: shades, roofs, attics, walls, sheds, garages.

What did we do?
We performed:
professional bee removal
complete honeycomb extraction
deep cleaning of the cavity
treatment to prevent bees from returning
proper sealing of the entry point
The homeowner was shocked to see how fast bees work and how important it is to act quickly.
If you see similar activity, do NOT wait.
Bees don’t leave on their own.
The problem doesn’t fix itself.
And the longer you wait, the bigger (and more expensive) the hive becomes.

We completed a professional bee removal in Waller after the homeowner noticed what seemed like “just a few bees” near the front door. After a full inspection, we discovered a fully established hive hidden inside the roof structure.

The homeowner mentioned they had seen bees around the entrance for several days, but the activity was subtle and difficult to identify. Something similar had happened briefly last year, but it disappeared—until recently, when the activity increased and became more noticeable. By the afternoon, the front door area was full of bees, and the family was concerned the colony might already be inside the home.

During our inspection of this newer property, we located the entry point: a small gap in the back of the house where bees were coming in and out with very minimal visible activity. From the outside, it looked harmless—but once we opened the structure, we found the real issue.

Inside the roof cavity, we uncovered a long, narrow space filled with dark, older honeycomb. This confirmed the colony had been established for quite some time. The hive extended nearly 4 feet inside the roof, and the bees already had guards protecting the entrance.

Many homeowners don’t notice bee activity until the colony becomes large or starts following light toward doors and windows. That’s why early inspections are so important.

Tip for homeowners:
If you see bees entering or exiting the same spot—even if it’s only a few—there is a high chance a hive is forming inside the structure. Early detection prevents damage and keeps your home safe.

Most people don’t pay attention when they only see one or two insects going in and out. When you finally see a lot of bees outside, it’s because the colony has already grown and can no longer hide. In this case, the bees were outside because they were trying to cool off — when the inside gets too hot, bees come out to get fresh air. That makes it look like a swarm, but in reality the colony has been active inside for a long time.
Thinking the bees had just arrived, we opened the area expecting something small… but once we opened it, we found a large extended hive in the lower section, and more honeycomb deeper inside the roof. We had to open from above to remove everything. That’s when we confirmed that the previous removal had left a big part of the infestation behind, simply because it was impossible to reach from the soffit.
Even though the previous company sealed everything with silicone, the bees never actually left. The population just decreased, winter arrived, and it looked like the problem had disappeared. But it didn’t — the colony stayed active, working silently inside until the homeowner saw them again when they came out to cool off.
I’m sharing the photos of this case so that if you have a similar situation, you can see what a proper bee removal process looks like:
– opening the correct area
– removing ALL the honeycomb
– cleaning and sterilizing the cavity
– sealing the structure correctly
If you see bees entering and exiting from the same point, or notice activity in the soffit, fascia, or roof, send me a message.

Bee Removal – West University Place, TX
Bee Hive Removal – Fascia / Roof Line – Second Floor

We handled a very interesting case in West University Place, an area where bees often find perfect hidden spaces inside roof lines and fascia. The homeowner called us after her contractor, who was preparing to paint the fascia, noticed something unusual.

While they were outside discussing the project, a cloud of bees suddenly arrived and went straight into a high point on the second‑floor roof. The contractor immediately stopped the conversation and told her:

“Before we start any work, you need to take care of this bee problem.”

The homeowner was nervous. She told me she had never seen anything like that, and it felt strange that the bees showed up at the exact moment they were outside talking about the project. After speaking with the contractor, she contacted us for a professional inspection.

We arrived the next morning. Activity was lower, and even the thermal camera didn’t show enough heat to confirm a large hive. But in any bee removal Houston or bee removal near me situation, there’s one sign that never fails:

👉 Bees entering and exiting the same point = active colony.

I explained the process, and we agreed to open the area to confirm what was happening. She believed there wouldn’t be much comb because “they had just seen the bees enter the day before.” But this is a pattern we see often in bee hive removal: once bees choose a spot, they work nonstop.

When we opened the area, we found:

👉 Five full layers of fresh comb
👉 A hive in active growth
👉 Bees working inside the structure

The homeowner was shocked at how quickly the bees had built everything. And even though the roof was sloped, we completed the extraction safely and professionally—removing the hive, cleaning the cavity, sanitizing the area, and leaving everything ready for the contractor to continue the project without risk.

Cases like this are common in West University Place, Bellaire, Katy, Cypress, Memorial, and the greater Houston area, where bees often build inside walls, roof lines, and fascia. If you see bees entering and exiting a specific point of your home, don’t ignore it. Once they decide to stay, they will not leave on their own.

BEE REMOVAL IN SUGAR LAND / NEW TERRITORY
Today I want to share a real bee removal case we handled this week in the Sugar Land – New Territory area. A homeowner reached out for an inspection after noticing bee activity in the front section of the house.

He mentioned that when they moved in last October, someone had told them there might be a bee issue, but since they didn’t see activity at the time, they didn’t pay much attention. Everything changed once the weather started warming up. The bees began gathering in one corner of the house. At first, it only happened once, but over time it became more frequent — and eventually it became scary to walk near that area.

Like many homeowners, he thought he could fix it with a bee spray from Home Depot. He brought out a tall ladder, watched a few YouTube tutorials, and started spraying the area when the bees weren’t outside. But instead of improving, the activity increased. That’s when he realized the problem was bigger than he expected and decided to call us.

When we performed the thermal inspection, the camera showed a very hot zone in the corner. That heat pattern around the affected area confirmed that this wasn’t a small hive — it was a full colony expanding behind the materials.

After explaining the professional bee removal process, the homeowner approved the service and we got started.

And yes… it was far from a small nest.
We had to remove more materials because the bees had already extended into the column and further behind the brick structure. This was definitely not something that could be fixed with a spray from the outside.

Once we removed the entire honeycomb, we performed the treatment and sterilization to eliminate odors, pheromones, and any trace that could attract bees back to the same location. This step is essential in a bee removal service because it prevents the colony from returning.

I’m sharing the images so you can see the size of the problem and understand what a real safe bee removal looks like. If you notice similar activity around your home, this is the correct process to remove the hive and make sure they don’t return.

Today I handled a very delicate case in the Richmond area. The landlord called me after his tenant contacted him in a panic because there were too many bees on the front porch, and they could no longer use the main door to enter or leave the house.
When he arrived to check, he saw bees going in and out from behind the fascia. It wasn’t thousands, but enough to worry anyone. And this is where the problem started: he thought he could fix it himself with a YouTube tutorial.
The video he watched said that “bees can’t stand the smell of gasoline,” and that it was an easy method to get rid of them. So he bought gasoline, waited until the activity went down in the evening, and started spraying gasoline where the bees were entering and exiting.
But as soon as he did it, he realized the mistake. The smell was extremely strong, and he understood he had put not only his house at risk, but the entire neighborhood. He even went door to door warning neighbors not to light grills, stoves, or anything that could create a spark because the gasoline smell was in the air.
And the worst part: the bees didn’t even notice his attempt.
After going through that stressful moment, he understood that bee removal is not a DIY task. It’s not something you can fix with a tutorial. It requires experience, equipment, and knowledge to do it safely without putting anyone at risk.
That’s when he decided to look for professional help and contacted us to remove the bees safely.
I’m sharing this experience because many homeowners and landlords don’t realize the real danger of trying to remove bees on their own. You can put your home, your health, your neighbors, and the structure of the house at risk.
My advice is always the same: seek professional help.

Bee Removal – Re*****on Trail, Katy TX

This week I completed a structural bee removal in Re*****on Trail after the homeowners noticed increasing bee activity around their back porch. Their college‑aged children had friends visiting over the weekend, and while they were by the pool eating snacks and drinking sodas, bees began approaching the area. What started with a few bees quickly increased, and everyone decided to go inside for safety.

The next day the homeowners inspected the property and noticed bees entering and exiting a decorative porch beam. Because they had dealt with bees before, they knew this could indicate a hidden hive and requested a professional bee inspection.

When I arrived, I performed an infrared bee inspection to locate the source of the activity. The scan confirmed an active beehive inside the decorative beam. This type of structural bee removal requires opening the affected area, removing the honeycomb, treating and sterilizing the cavity, adding insulation, and sealing the structure to prevent bees from returning.

The family is preparing for an upcoming graduation gathering, so it was important to complete the bee removal service quickly and ensure the area was safe for guests. I carefully opened the beam without damaging the structure, removed the entire hive, performed a full honeycomb removal, treated the interior, and filled the cavity with insulation to prevent future bee activity. After the treatment, the beam was repaired and restored to its original appearance.

Cases like this are common in Katy, especially during warm months when bees look for structural voids to build hives. Even when exterior activity seems minimal, a fully established hive can be hidden inside walls, beams, or soffits. Professional bee removal ensures the hive is removed correctly, the area is treated, and the structure is sealed to prevent reinfestation.

If you notice bees entering a wall, beam, soffit, or any part of your home, a professional inspection can help determine whether there is an active hive and what type of removal is needed.
