Sometimes discontinued parts just mean you have to build it better. 🔧

We replaced this 10-outlet hot water manifold in an attic after the original distribution block failed. These older manifold systems have been discontinued, and for good reason. After about a decade of service, we see them fail fairly often.

No problem for the plumbers at ER Plumbing.

Instead of trying to piece together another obsolete manifold, we hand-built a new hot water manifold using traditional brass tees, with roughly 46 new connection points throughout the rebuild.

This setup mimics the traditional piping method used in many homes before pre-built manifold blocks became popular. It’s serviceable, dependable, and doesn’t rely on another proprietary plastic distribution block that may eventually become impossible to find.

Sometimes the best solution isn’t replacing an old part with the same thing. It’s rebuilding it in a way that can be serviced for years to come.

One of the biggest misconceptions about AC condensate drains is what you should pour down them.

We hear it all the time: “Just pour bleach down it.” Others recommend distilled white vinegar.

We don’t recommend either.

Over time, harsh chemicals and acidic products can potentially affect components of the PVC drain system. More importantly, they’re not specifically designed for what is actually causing most AC drain clogs.

AC condensate creates a slimy, jelly like buildup inside the drain line. As that buildup grows, it can eventually restrict the drain and cause water to back up or overflow into your home.

We recommend using a professional AC condensate drain cleaning product specifically designed to break down and remove that organic buildup, along with routine cleaning of the drain line.

A little preventative maintenance can go a long way toward preventing a clogged AC drain and a much bigger water damage problem.

Water heaters don’t always give you much warning before they fail, and when they’re sitting above your ceiling, that’s not something you want to gamble with.

Early Sunday morning emergency tankless water heater repair. đŸ”§đŸ”„

This customer called us earlier in the week with a Rinnai tankless water heater issue. After diagnosing the unit, we determined the water servo valve had failed.

Unfortunately, this isn’t a part we keep on the truck, so we had to order it in. The replacement didn’t arrive until late Saturday evening.

Sunday morning, we’re here getting it installed and getting our customer’s hot water back up and running.

Sometimes service isn’t just about having the answer. It’s about following through when the part finally shows up.

🚹 A clogged sewer line isn’t always just a clog.

This customer had a main sewer stoppage just four months ago and was previously told wet wipes were the cause.

Today, we found something different.

While clearing the line, our cable hit a root cluster approximately 40–45 feet out and pulled roots back with it. Once we restored flow, we ran our sewer camera to see why the roots were getting into the system.

The Schedule 40 PVC looked good. But once we reached the SDR piping closer to the city tap, we found standing water, offsets, and what appears to be a separation near the connection.

That’s why we don’t always stop when the water starts flowing again.

Clearing the blockage fixes today’s problem. Finding the cause can prevent tomorrow’s.

Not every tankless problem means you need a new water heater.

Today’s repair involved diagnosing an issue with the unit and replacing the electronic control board. These systems have multiple sensors, controls and electrical components working together, and proper diagnosis can sometimes save a customer thousands compared to unnecessary replacement.
