Pattern matching isn't just for stripes, plaids and florals.

This chair is upholstered in a fabric with an organic design that offers few straight lines and no easy reference points. Every panel and cushion had to be carefully planned so the pattern would flow naturally.

Each cut was strategically positioned before a single stitch was sewn. The goal isn't perfect symmetry; it's creating balance, continuity, and a finished look that feels intentional from every angle!

The more complex the pattern, the more craftsmanship it takes to make it look effortless.

Here, upholstery is carefully stretched and secured; shaped entirely by hand to follow every curve and edge with precision. It’s a process of control and feel, where the material is guided into place until it sits clean, tight, and true to the form beneath it.

With thicker and heavier materials, timing and tension matter just as much as placement. Every pull, adjustment, and fastener is intentional, ensuring the surface lays smooth and consistent across the frame.

No shortcuts; just craft, experience, and attention to how the material responds in real time.

Every workshop has that person who keeps things moving while keeping everyone smiling. For us, that’s Malee.

After running her own upholstery shop for many years, Malee joined the Queen Anne Upholstery family around eight years ago and has been an important part of our team ever since.

From upholstery work and quality control to mentoring others in the shop, her experience touches nearly every project that comes through our shop. She has an incredible eye for detail, a deep understanding of the trade, and the kind of steady work ethic that helps keep the shop running strong!

And of course, the team would probably also tell you she’s one of the best cooks around.

Commercial upholstery demands thicker, heavier-duty materials built to withstand years of everyday wear in restaurants, hotels, and public spaces. Those materials are far less forgiving, harder to stretch, sew, and shape, and every detail has to be precise!

This is the kind of craftsmanship that only comes from experience.
