Am i really about to take on another foster?... less than a week after jack..
I just might be.....

Great Pyrenees possibly mixed, full of mange but looks to be the not contagious kind based on duration, affect and the fact that another dog has been with him the whole time and has no mange.
Very likely an immune system issue as he doesnt look or seem to have been well cared for and is estimated to be about a year old.
Owner had meds for treatment some time ago but opted to instead abandon them completely and left him to suffer.

No one will touch him and hes a sweetheart. Obviously. Hes a Pyrenees so of course he is.

Not fixed which for a Pyrenees is a good thing he should be 2 years old before his neuter if possible.

Possible problems:
I dont have a very large fenced in yard. Hes used to free range..

Idk thats about it

If he hates cats that may be a problem too they like the yard

6 months ago I couldn't touch any of them and most I couldn't even be seen or they would run. Now they spend most of their day lounging around outside waiting for me to open a door so they can ask for love.

My last morning with you 🥺
Jack has gone to his forever home where he will be loved, spoiled and cared for. Letting him go was way harder than I had hoped. I will still get to see him and stay updated on his progress in life.

I packed all his favorites and essentials. Potty pads in case of accidents( hes been accident free for only 2 weeks). Bones, new bag of treats, his food to help him transition to new food, his favorite toys, his blanket, food bowl, and theyre borrowing a harness and leash while they wait for theirs to come in.

Now im off to cry and bed rot.

This is the hardest part of fostering the way i do. Loving them like their forever but knowing theyre not and watching them leave while they dont quite know what's happening.

I know he will be so loved and never alone. He will be their everything and he deserves that.

Update on my foster jack!
On sunday jack met his new parents and was smitten! His new parents were absolutely in love before meeting him and fell even deeper in love when they did. On monday we took jack over to his new parents house for a home check and to see how he felt there.

Jack so ecstatic to see them again. Within a minute of being in the yard he shook off his nerves and was just excited to explore everything with them. They showed him all around his new home inside and out. He was so excited to be with them and investigate all these new things that would be his.

Jack made his choice and he chooses them as much as they chose him. He has a home finally after almost 7 weeks in foster care with me and over 4 months of being passed around after being picked up as a stray puppy.

Im so grateful i got to play one of the most important roles in his life. His first stable home that taught him how to be a family dog. He was never meant to be permanent but he was always family.

He will be a companion dog for both of them. One he will protect and keep company and one he will give purpose too. They both need him as much as he needs them. His new dad was already in love when Jack gave him a big hug. Little did we know that hug would mean the world to him and cement his love for jack.

When I picked jack up 7 weeks ago I just knew someone was waiting for him. I talked to over a dozen applicants and they all felt wrong no matter what they could provide. The very first message I received from his new parents i knew immediately that was who I was waiting for.

Not because they have a giant yard, super active life, kids or other dogs. Those had been things I looked for but it turns out jack needs enough space for himself, a family devoted to him and entertainment theyre more than happy to provide.

Ive never seen Jack as relaxed and excited as he was while they showed him all around his new home. You could tell he felt like everything was just for him and it is. All the love in the world just for him and he deserves it.
