April 10th-16th, 2022 - National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week.
Thank you to all the selfless, dedicated professionals with the Jones/Lenoir Emergency Communications Center. These Telecommunicators are working when everyone else is sleeping or sharing a holiday/birthdays/anniversaries with their family. They make arrangements with their families to celebrate on a different day, so that they can come in and provide an invaluable service to the citizens and first responders of Jones and Lenoir Counties. These ladies and gentlemen are unseen, but they are the calm in the chaos and the voice on the other side of the telephone and/or radio to calm someone in their time of stress and emergency. They are the FIRST, first responders, providing citizens with life-saving instructions and being there for the first responders day and night.

This week we will recognize our Telecommunicators for everything that they do for this department and County! Thank you all for everything you do!

So far I’ve installed the front door and back door here, and finished up the underpinning not long ago. Next is replacing the kitchen cabinets and countertops that I demoed already. Then some paint and flooring, and a few other details to get this thing ready to rent.

A recent kitchen remodel. I didn’t install the granite but I did prep for it.

Before and after. Replaced rotten 6x6 posts, other rotten boards, and also “opened up” the bottom. Not to mention, that in this decent sized area of Private townhouses, I’ve replaced half of the siding, trim, and painted it all, too.

This was a custom raised-panel shutter build. No decision on the finish yet, but I’ll keep you posted!
