East Tennessee Children’s Hospital’s Fantasy Of The Trees is going on this week from yesterday through Sunday. We love being able to design and build a tree for this event every year and helping them raise proceeds to help all the sweet babies that are in need. This year when we arrived our tree had already been purchased. Shoney’s makes a large donation every year and gets to pick one tree and that was ours this year. Our tree will leave Sunday and be set up at the Chapman Highway location through Christmas…. Pretty cool….. if you get done with thanksgiving dinner today and need to go walk some of that turkey off take you and your family and go see all the beautiful trees and help Childrens Hospital. Happy Thanksgiving everyone and thank you for your business through the years.

Through the year we support ball teams,school functions and other things but our most favorite thing to help with is Fantasy of the trees. If you don’t know this event raised over a million dollars last year for children’s hospital and is done by an army of volunteers. We are thankful to be a part of this every year and to just give back. We love our community and we love children’s hospital and all the great things they do for all the sweet babies.

Starting Sunday night to Friday morning everyone in the East Tennessee areas will be experiencing an artic blast of winter weather. Temperatures are expected to go as low as 1 degree Tuesday night with a high of 27. With this being said most of your utility’s could be affected and you should prepare adequately. We’ve posted a simple maintenance checklist below in picture that might help you battle these temperatures. Thankful for the opportunity to be part of East Tennessee Children’s Hospitals fantasy of trees event. Since starting my business several years back this has been something I’ve wanted to be part of. This event is children’s hospitals biggest fundraiser of the year and every penny goes into the hospital. How can you not get behind that? We’re thankful to finally hold a spot here an that the designed tree SOLD on the very first day. We donate silently through the year to several different fundraisers, clubs and ball teams but I just can’t help but want to share this one because we’re kind of proud to be here.

11 years ago this 2 inch discharge line was installed, the house was a vacation home so didn’t see much usage but once the property was obtained by a full time living situation 11 years later they realized the system was not working. We began at the tank to discover the tank had been draining into the edge of the slope for many years and that from the tank connection to the discharge connection that the line had 19 inches of elevation change the wrong way in the first 40 feet of the line. Replaced and graded the ditch until we made the elevation fall correctly. To think that someone was paid for such a terrible install all those years ago is mind blowing. We do routine maintenance on everything we own, but our septic tanks seem to fall to the wayside in several occasions. The ideal of its working and it’s not given any trouble so we will leave it be has been a mentality for many many years. I hear people say well my parents didn’t pump their tank one time in 50 years. But what you should know is 50 years ago the chemicals,detergents and toilet paper looked much different 50 years ago. Our detergents kill a majority of the bacteria that is working inside the tanks now days. Do yourself a favor and service your tank. The cost is minimal compared to a replacement/repair on the drainfield. Adding an access to pump it once every 3-5 years is a great addition as well as it allows you to be able to service the tank with no digging. Call us today for all your septic needs.
