Sometimes, it’s all about having the right tool for the job.

I’ve been fortunate to reconnect with a high school friend who works with North Hill Resources . He’s been helping me get materials to our job sites more efficiently, making it easier to keep projects moving and get the job done right.

At Grass Roots, we believe good work starts with good people, the right tools, and a little ingenuity. It’s always a bonus when you can work with friends along the way.

Some trips are about more than the miles covered. They’re about slowing down, sharing good company, and remembering your place in the natural world.

A few days in the high country around Mount Baker with my friend Garret. Big mountains, cold mornings, heavy packs, and a reminder that the best things in life are rarely easy to come by.

Time in places like these is humbling. You learn to pay attention, appreciate what the land offers, and carry a little more gratitude on the way home.

We came down with full packs, good memories, and plenty to be thankful for.

Stay grounded. Respect the land. Keep your roots deep.

The junipers are officially out!

Next, we’ll grade the existing soil and bring in a fresh 3-way soil blend to give the new plantings a healthy start.

This garden will feature native plants selected to support local wildlife and pollinators.

We also salvaged these cedar nursery logs, giving them a second life as a natural feature in the new garden.

Building healthier gardens, one project at a time.

What a perfect day on the water. Thank to Alex Van Hine for getting River on his first salmon. The little man reeled it all the way to the boat. Blessed to have such great friends to harvest natures bounty with.
