Roger’s story is tragic. And, for those who know him it has been difficult to understand why it even happened. His life dramatically changed in May of 2014. While on his private property, he was brutally beaten by three SAPD officers, that mistook him for someone else, they were chasing. The senseless beating he endured caused herniations in his cervical vertebrae, along with other injuries. After a year and a half of chronic neck pain, and endless pain management efforts, he was recommended to undergo a surgical procedure. Unfortunately, during the surgery his neck was broken. He is now diagnosed as a C-5 C-6 quadriplegic and is confined to a wheelchair. A Spinal Cord injury like this doesn’t only affect the victim, it affects their entire family. Starting from the emotions of the diagnoses, throughout the stresses of the unknown, along with the financial challenges. It takes an army to care for one person. Family, and Faith have always been the most important to Roger. A proud father of three terrific young boys, the plans that he had for his family of traveling, sports, and outdoor activities, changed dramatically. His focus and drive now, is to work hard in therapy every week, to hopefully some day be able to fulfill some of those dreams he has always had for his family. There are thousands of Spinal Cord Injury Victims who need our support and financial assistance. With your help, our goal is to raise enough money to help with the ever-increasing cost of medical expenses, and help them transition into a life of accessibility, where they can once again find meaning and happiness.
Thank you for your kind support.
