Keeping things cool isn’t just about comfort. Sometimes, it’s about protecting what’s inside.

Our team was in North Charleston replacing an aging walk-in cooler system with new equipment designed to provide reliable, consistent cooling.

Good airflow starts long before the air reaches the vent.

Noah and Braden were out on Folly Beach replacing the ductwork throughout this home, including a new main trunk, supply runs, and return ductwork.
Every connection was sealed, supported, and checked for leaks before the system was tested for proper airflow.

When your thermostat says one thing but your HVAC system does another, something isn’t communicating properly.

This Moncks Corner homeowner’s system wouldn’t shut off, causing the temperature inside to drop to around 65°.

Noah traced the problem to a failed transformer and a faulty zone control board that was continuing to tell the system to run when it shouldn’t.

After diagnosing the issue, he got the system cycling properly again and identified the zone control board that needs to be replaced.

One system was down, and the other was working overtime. 🔧

This Charleston homeowner called because the main floor wasn’t cooling. Chase found the downstairs system had lost its refrigerant due to a leaking evaporator coil and shut it down to protect the equipment from further damage.

Meanwhile, the upstairs system was still running but struggling to keep up because it was taking on the extra heat from the unconditioned floor below.
Once the leak was located, Chase replaced the failed evaporator coil, completed the necessary repairs, and thoroughly tested the system before putting it back into operation.

With both floors cooling properly again, the home—and both HVAC systems—can get back to normal.

Your outdoor HVAC unit needs a little breathing room, too. 🌿

Your condenser relies on airflow to do its job, which means the space around it matters. As landscaping grows throughout the year, shrubs and greenery can gradually end up closer to the unit than you realize.

Keeping vegetation trimmed back and the area around your condenser clear helps maintain proper airflow and gives technicians room to access the equipment when needed.

Well… that’s not supposed to be in there. 👀

This homeowner was experiencing major airflow issues, and the damaged return ductwork made it pretty clear why.

The duct had been torn open after the hood above it deteriorated, allowing pine straw, leaves, dirt and other debris to make its way into the system. That buildup eventually reached the evaporator coil and seriously restricted airflow.

Our team cleared the debris, restored cooling, and got the damaged ductwork taken care of.

Clearing the debris helped restore airflow, but correcting how it got there is what keeps the problem from repeating itself.

This is exactly why maintenance matters. 👀

A weekend no-cool call in Mt. Pleasant came with a little more than just a cooling issue.

We found standing water in the emergency drain pan and buildup in the condensate lines, leaving water where it definitely shouldn’t be.

Our technician cleared and flushed the drain lines, removed the standing water, and got the system operating properly again.

Drain lines may not be the most exciting part of your HVAC system, but keeping them clear can prevent a small issue from becoming a much bigger headache. It’s one of the many things we check during routine maintenance — because we’d much rather catch it there than on a weekend no-cool call.

Charleston didn’t get the fall memo.

September may be pumpkin spice season everywhere else, but in the Lowcountry, it’s still very much AC season.

So while we’re ready for cooler mornings, changing leaves, and all things fall... your AC probably isn’t off the clock just yet.

This is the blower wheel from a mini-split -- and yes, it was actually trying to move air looking like THAT. 😬

Over time, dirt and buildup can collect between those tiny blades, restricting the amount of air the system is able to move. And because the blower wheel is tucked away inside the unit, you may never realize just how dirty it has gotten.

After a thorough cleaning, the difference was immediate -- better airflow and a system that can actually maintain its set temperature without running constantly.
